I haven't even got dressed
Only me and my son here, and he's spent the day playing computer games in his room whilst I've been watching all 4 Indiana Jones files and playing games on my laptop in the living room.
Tomorrow will be 'smart casual' (probably cord leggings and a jumper) as we're off to exchange presents with my parents, daughter and grand-daughters.
I never do make-up unless I'm going out somewhere very, very special and expensive.Cheryl0 -
Oh dear CW. That's not good.
Maybe it's time to start thinking about yourself........Maybe its time to start treating yourself with a bit more tenderness.
Ladies this is where it starts..........
If we don't treat ourselves with love, compassion and respect, how can we expect anyone else to.
Never mind, chin up, that's what this thread is all about.
Learning how to reclaim our dignity and self respect. It's not about being vain or selfish. It's about loving ourselves.
Well peeps I hope the rest of you had a lovely time.
I had a nice day, some lovely gifts, nice food - didn't go overboard - good company with my boys and future DIL.
She has never experienced a full on English Christmas - she loved it. Today my son is introducing her to another English tradition - the Boxing Day sporting fixture - ie Deby County are at home. :rotfl:
(Actually they are doing rather well - promotion to the Premier Division would be nice, fingers crossed - back where we belong:D).
Today it's a nice gentle day. Visit dad and my sister. Tomorrow we're off to see Star Wars.........the grown up equivalent of Panto?? :rotfl:
Soon be time to start thinking about what we want to achieve next year.
Time to write a new manifesto.
Whatever, to borrow the vernacular of the younger generation I have already decided .......
2016 is going to be AWESOME!!!!0 -

As for no make up, I've had allergy problems with a few in the past so I've never worn much or on a regular basis - and possibly as a result of that I don't actually feel comfortable with it on!Cheryl0 -
CW I hope you had a nice time visiting family.
LL it's so true about looking after yourself and it's something I have learned from fabbing.
We had a nice Xmas, although it's been really tiring as we've been visiting family, which in itself is a relaxed affair, but the journey is long. I have to go back again tomorrow too.
Today, I popped to Lush, which is my new favourite shop and wanted to check out the sale. When I arrived, there was a queue and it was one in, one out. I bought a couple of half price bath bombs for me and the children, but it wasn't worth the time i queued for. I also bought some more henna - I haven't been impressed with it, but decided to give it a final go, before throwing in the towel.
Going back to LLs post about looking after yourself and plans for 2016, I haven't goals. I have a debt free diary, but I want to learn some develop some skills, which i should be able to focus on now dd is 3. I've wanted start knitting again (and actually finish something) and in town, I noticed a knitting shop and have stated making a simple scarf, which should be finished in a couple of days. I give myself extra brownie points as it ties in with fabbing!! I've also decided to knit a couple for Xmas 2016 for some frugal gifts (I will have to start now, if I want to get them finished in time!!!!).0 -
Good morning lovely ladies
I hope you have all enjoyed the festive season - whichever way you decided to spend it.
We are off to see Star Wars this afternoon - not really bothered myself but the boys are wildly excited. We have a family tradition of seeing the big film at Christmas and I guess films don't come any bigger than Star Wars!!
I feel a bit "carbed out" - at the moment .........
I am looking forward to going back to paleo tomorrow - I do find festive food a bit too rich after a while. It's funny but I genuinely prefer a much simpler way of eating now.
Has anyone found any good bargains in the sales.......
I might venture a little mooch found the shops tomorrow.
I would like some charcoal grey jeans or trousers and some black "everyday" shoes or maybe an ankle boot.
Have a great day.
PS. Derby County now top of the league.......wahoo. Premiership next year maybe,??0 -
ll me and OH are going to see Star Wars tomorrow. I really wanted to take DS, but it's a 12a and I don't think he'll sit through it anyway
I know what you mean about rich festive food. On Xmas eve we had Chinese food for dinner, 2 Xmas dinners on Christmas day and INdian food yesterday. All I want now is something simple like an omelette!!! I get the same feeling a few days of bring on holiday, when all I want is something simple!!! Still, we don't have anywhere to go for the next couple of days.
I've just remembered that OH wAnts to go for pizza after the cinema. I'd prefer not to, but I know he's looking forward to it.
In terms of the sales, I bought a pair of trousers for under £10. I already have them in grey and snapped them up when they were reduced. I haven't bought anything else and probably won't. I was given a shopping centre gift voucher for Xmas, which I've earmarked for a dress that I've seen, but I'm waiting for an offer as its quite expensive.0 -
I'm more than a bit 'Bah! Humbug!' about the whole Christmas thing, and eat pretty much as normal. Christmas Eve was a tuna and pasta meal, Christmas Day was sausage meat, chips and veg, yesterday (at parents) was a turkey sandwich with some salad, and today has been sausage, chips and gravy that DS1 was given at a chippy he did a job for but didn't want himself (means my portion of the chicken enchilladas I was making for tonight is now heading for the freezer
) Planning on lamb steak, jackets and veg tomorrow before I head back to work on Tuesday. Only 'binge' I've had was some cheese and biscuits yesterday evening, but I've burned some of that off with a 4 mile run this morning

OH is taking the 3 boys (15, 10 in 9 days and 6.5) to see Star Wars today. I know it's a 12A, but lots of DS3's classmates have seen it and the parents have said ok. Not my thing, but they're all really looking forward to it. I plan to attack the ironing whilst they're out (I usually iron every day, but haven't done any since Xmas Eve, so there's rather a lot to do!) DD (18) would go along for the ride and mooch in the shops but she has a driving lesson booked, so can't.
We all went to the local panto yesterday. Normally we do make more of an effort to dress up for it, and maybe eat out but we had visitors here until literally we left to go and none of us wanted to eat out (we had a huge brunch deliberately to make sure we'd all be ok to get through the performance) so didn't make as big an effort as normal (although weren't total scruffs!)
Our Xmas Day leftovers have all gone now bar one portion of breast meat sliced and frozen in gravy. Oh - and 2 slices of yule log - which will undoubtedly get eaten today! My fridge is still quite full, though, as the children have been putting choc presents in there and I bought extra milk and fruit and veg so we could avoid the shops.
Just myself and DS3 up at the mo. I'm waiting until 8.30 to go for a shower, just so I don't disturb anyone too early - 3 of us are fighting a cold thing which is more of a throat/ chesty thing in reality and we're tired. (Typical holiday run-down-ness - we've had a very busy couple of months in the run up to Xmas, so are taking it quite easy now the holidays are here) I plan on a comfy day of jeans, a fluffy jumper and fluffy socksI also need to remove my nail varnish. OH bought me some nail care stuff for Xmas (possibly a hint!) so I may have a go with that this evening. Apparently it makes nails super shiny and smooth for 10-14 days.....

Just a quickie.
Star Wars........although a 12a its fine for younger ones, no real violence, no blood or gore.;), plenty of jokes and subtle humour for grown ups, plenty of action for boys (of all ages:rotfl:). Although it's not really my thing - give me Downton any day.....,I did enjoy it.
I'm feeling a lot perkier today. I had a run of sleepless nights and was beginning to turn night into day. By yesterday I was feeling quite run down. I gave in last night and took something to help me sleep. I had a much better night and feel more like my old self this morning.
I am going to go out for a little mooch, do some tidying, have a fridge sort out. I just need some vegetables and salad bits today.
Have been thinking about goals for next year. Will post them soon.
Would you like a new thread for the new year........shall we post our new goals on the new thread......0 -
