Very much looking forward to date no 2 on Monday now, he got complementary tickets for the new musical Kinky Boots (based on the film) as he's going to be working on the recording of the show, so we're doing an early dinner first and then the show.

Ooh, DD and I went to Kinky Boots yesterday. Absolutely fabulous, I hope you enjoy it.

I have our works do tomorrow, I was passing through TK Maxx on Thursday, glanced at the day dresses and one virtually leaped off into my hands. It is a teal colour which, as a warm autumn, is my colour. It was only £18 so I got it with some birthday money my dad gave me :T. Result.... :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Thank you, I am sure I will. Love a good musical and I enjoyed the film. Plus the company will be lovely too.... It's rather pathetic but having only met him on Thursday I've been missing him these last few days. Fortunately he is as soppy as I am and also missing me. The more we talk the more it seems we have in common.

Kind of kicking myself for making plans to go away hiking over new year now, but I might check if the hotel could accomodate someone extra for the event on new year's eve - I got a double room for sole occupancy so it would only be a case of an extra chair at a table.

Teal is my one of my favourite colours too, also an autumn. £18 sounds like a complete bargain.

I'm officially off work now until next year!!!!! The bad news is that I woke up with a stinking cold. I could have done with not going to work, but I had a few things to do.

Ds has broken up from school but dd has a few more days at nursery, so I'll use the opportunity to spend a few (quieter) days with Ds, as we have a few chores to do tomorrow.

I've ordered tickets for me and OH to see Star Wars, which I'm excited about as I do enjoy the film's and we don't get to go out very often.

On a more frugal note, I managed to grab a bargain today from the Body Shop. I managed to get my moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner and a body butter for £13. They are products I use and the body butter will make a nice gift for someone.
  • Just home from second date. We tried to work out over dinner if there was anything we really disagree about, and so far we've not managed to find a thing, even trying more controversial subjects like religion and politics. In fact the more we chat, the more we seem to find in common.

So sweet, he apologized over dinner for forgetting to bring the present he'd bought me after our first date to give me tonight. I really wasn't expecting a Christmas present - we've only just met. But it's so nice he was thinking of me. The ex was so adamant he was dreadful at presents that I just told him not to bother, wasn't worth the whinging. Just got to think what to get him now! Guys are harder to buy for - with girls you can always do jewellery. Going to jump on Amazon and see if I can find an art deco architecture book as he's admitted to loving that (which I do too!)

The show was fab, just such a feel good musical. He's going to be working on doing the recording of the show between Christmas and New Year which is pretty cool.

He drove into London from where he lives in Kent so that he could see me home again tonight - such a gentleman.

Anyway, not too long to wait till date number 3, he's going to come over to dinner on Wednesday night.

Did a bit of shopping with my kiwi cousin who is staying at my place for a few nights en route from Dublin where she's been au pairing to the family in Essex - got some new brown flat ankle boots half price in Aldo and some rather fabulous art deco earrings and a necklace to go with my flapper dress for New Year's Eve.

Pleased to hear that date no 2 went well, indie If you like art deco, take him to Eltham Palace, which is run by English Heritage. It's a nice place to wander around for a couple of hours.

I've woken up still full of cold, but had a good night's sleep, so I do feel more refreshed.
  • Floss, so sorry to hear of your loss. We lost my grandmother, the last of my grandparents, a few weeks ago, we discovered she left strict instructions if anything was to happen close to christmas we were to wait so the funeral is 2nd week in January. Nevertheless I think it will be a quiet christmas this year. Considering we have 4 girls ranging in ages between 19-25 they have all opted to tone down the partying and just want to be together as a family. My granny was very adventurous her whole life and loved travel and trying new things so my brother and I realised we have a few promises to keep, he has to try flying a plane and I have to go an visit Rome, one of her favourite cities.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother shandy but your post is strangely positive. Sounds like she's left a fantastic legacy behind. Rome is wonderful and I'm sure you'll have a great time when you go and make more happy memories of her.:)

I think a day out is a fantastic idea for a gift chanie with maybe a posh picnic or a meal thrown in. Glad to hear you slept well. So did I, and it's a great feeling.:D

Body Shop is really good when it comes to offers. My DH uses their products and bulk buys so that he never pays full price.

He really does sound a good chap indie. I'm so pleased you're enjoying life at the moment.

I like the sound of the art deco jewellery. I had a quick look in White Stuff yesterday to see if any PJs were reduced but not yet. I'm going to keep watching the website. I also had a spray of Jo Malone when I walked through John Lewis. I've been fancying the Grapefruit but yesterday I tried the Amber& Patchouli intense cologne. That's fab too. Unfortunately they're so expensive I have to be sure before treating myself. I can see a lot more visits to JL before I make up my mind.:D

We had a lovely night out with friends yesterday. Not a special event as such, just some drinks and something to eat in a wine bar. I wore my green blouse with black jeans again. That's proving very versatile at the moment, especially as it's so mild and I've not felt the need for a jumper (Christmas or otherwise;)).

I've made a list of last things that need doing before Christmas. It's not that long so will potter through at leisure over next couple of days. Hope no one is getting too frazzled.:)

No frazzles here. :D I am feeling very mellow and relaxed.

All presents wrapped, Tree going up today, final food shop tomorrow. Job done. Then time for some fabbing.

My tan is still going strong, I think it's because I tanned very slowly over a good three weeks. I wore factor 50 and I have a nice light golden tan. My skin is naturally a pale olive so it does hold a tan quite a while. However I think I'll start using the Dove tan extender stuff. I do need to get something for my face to keep that nice healthy glow. I haven't needed a blusher at the moment - I have been able to go bare faced, just a bit of eye make up and some lippy.

Speaking of eyes. I have noticed some white hairs in my eye brows  so far I have managed to cover them with eyebrow powder but I think I need to think about getting them dyed.

Now you know you are getting older when your eyebrows start turning white.......:rotfl:

Indie - glad the romance is going well. Some nice outings planned.

Shandy - sorry to hear about grandmother but I agree with MAman she sounds like she was a very special and positive person. Her legacy will live on.

Rome is definitely on my bucket list.

    Have a great day.
