Frugal Frump to Fab - 2015

Thanks for posing sofar and sorry things have been difficult for you but delighted to hear you've kept up all the basics and lost half a stone:T.
LL should be back from her cruise very soon, can't wait to hear all about it. I've had lunch with a friend today just back from cruising from Miami and through the Panama canal. The more I hear about cruises, the more tempted I am. I've only done one around the Caribbean.
ETA: Just checked and I think LL's ship is about to dock this evening. How exciting!!:)
Had a lovely lunch and felt really fab. Went for black pencil skirt (the lovely Hush quilted one) with opaques and black suede heels and my dark green blouse and black velvet jacket. Ate three courses so still feeling a bit stuffed, thank goodness I don't do that every day.0 -
maman sounds like you had a nice day and your outfit sounds gorgeous.
I'm spending the day with my mum and nephew tomorrow, which will make a nice change from being just me and Dd. On Saturday, we will be taking the children to see Santa and have a wander around the shopping centre.
fabbing resolutions
I've already started to think about what I have achieved in 2015 and what I hope to do in 2015.
My biggest focus is going to be weight loss. I need to loose 1.5 stones and I really need to get focussed, so I'm going to sit down at and re-read my weight watchers handbook to start.
In terms of 2015, well, it's been pretty good on the fabbing front. This thread has been really helpful in keeping me on track. I've got some nice new outfits and have had compliments about my appearance. I have a lovely make up bag and I've been wearing make up most days.0 -
Good evening lovely ladies
Just a quickie to let you know that I'm back.
I've had the most wonderful time, lots of lovely warm sunshine, visited lots of nice places, met some great people.
Had a great time people watching.......some very elegant ladies, some less so....;)
I've decided I've nothing to worry about really.......at least not compared with some.
I feel refreshed and revitalised, in fact, raring to go. Lots of new ideas.
Will read the thread and catch up with you all later.......0 -

Still reading and trying to fab although not managing to post much. Work is horrible at the moment and my 'get up and go' is hiding under its duvet somewhere.
Still walking every Saturday, 10 -15 miles of mud (at the moment) which is my attempt to stay sane until work gets sorted out.
Sorry to hear work is horrible. I know what you mean about walking being a great help in trying to remain sane - I know exercise in general is good to help with stress, but there's nothing like getting outdoors to help. I find being in wide open spaces especially with great views tend to put my worries in perspective, plus you sleep better after all the exercise.
I've already put in a day of unpaid overtime in the three days I've been in the office this week - just got way too much to do. My manager had indicated they might be able to get some extra resource to support me, and I have booked a meeting with him next week to discuss as I can't carry on like this. Good news is the Board I work with have been very complementary about my work - one member made a point of not only sending me a message the night before the board meeting to complement me on a paper I sent them, but repeating it in the meeting the next day, at which point the rest of them joined in in repeating his praise and saying I have their support. So I very much want to carry on with the role, am learning lots of new things which I enjoy, but if I don't get the extra support it will turn into a nightmare.
In between my fall last Friday and the long hours I've done no exercise all week and have been eating badly so I am feeling decidedly unfab. Oh well, one more day to get through and I have three days off. Nice day out with a friend tomorrow, Christmas shopping Sunday (need to decide if I am going to Ashford or Biscester outlets - haven't worked out which will be quicker from here) and then Monday should be ok for some exercise and got a massage to look forward to. Must get some fabbing in too, doesn't take much neglect to make my skin look dull. My flapper dress arrived and provided I wear the right underwear under it, I think that will work well - got a nice beaded headband to complete the look. Just need to not eat my way out of the dress before the party!!!
Never heard from the date again - suspect the fall might have put him off, probably thinks I can't take my drink. Truth is I am a little clumsy regardless of whether I have had a drink or not (though I only mean I have a trip / slip / sport injury once a year or so, so on first meeting was unfortunate to say the least!) and 4 glasses of prosecco is not enough to get me drunk. I did think of trying to explain, but concluded I didn't really care. He was easy enough to talk to, but I wasn't sure there was a spark, and I think I still need more time to get over the ex. Missing him a lot, there are times on the way home when I would have rung him to chat about our days and I feel lost not having anyone to call (well, I could call my Dad but he can be a bit downbeat with having to deal with Mum and sometimes I don't want to hear about that after a tough day). These days I never call friends for a chat - we email and IM to arrange meet ups and chat then - not sure if others find the same.
LL - glad to hear you had a fab time and look forward to hearing all about it and all your new ideas.
Right, must get going, have a fab Friday all. x0 -
Welcome back lesson learned can't wait to hear all about your cruise
Good for you lily I think there's quite a few of us on here looking to lose some extra padding
I know what you mean indie it's strange how many people don't have actual phone conversations now. I'm the same with my friends it's all messages and then when we meet up we talk at a hundred miles an hour but sometimes you just need to hear someone's voice.
I'm away to fab this morning, I've an appointment with my friend for a massage ( not a nice gentle one but a this is where your bones and muscles should be one :rotfl:) and need to defuzz firstkonMarie and fabbing all the way
Weight loss challenge starting 11st loss in November 4lb0 -
ll welcome back. Can't wait to hear about your cruise.0

**indie** if you don't hear from the date, it's his loss - the least he could've done was offer to carry you home!
As for the ex - it must be hard at times, but now you've taken the first tough step to move on, I'm sure it's best to stick out for the kind of two way relationship you deserve - hope that doesn't come across as too cheeky or intrusive x0 -
Hi all.

Lovely to hear from you. I was thinking abut you only yesterday when others were saying that jobs are tough.
Back soon I'm doing Fab Fridayish in that I'll be clean and neat but hardly glam.;)
I have to go to M&S later to pick up a gift on click and collect. Strange but I'm more pleased that it'll allow me to go food shopping in Sainsbury's next door without making an extra trip. Anyone else find there's little to excite in M&S these days?0
