Just a quickie to add that some of you have mentioned Paleo eating recently - I saw a Paleo recipe book in Aldi for £2.99 today, looked quite good if that's your thing. No good for a veggie like me but may be of some use to someone?

Thanks for that, Im looking for some new ideas. Looked on Amazon and they were really expensive. I'll try and nip over, I could do with some f&v.

Just tried my juicer again, I think the celery was a mistake. The juice was fine, but the texture was a bit stringy.:rotfl:

    Hi all

Lovely fresh day down south, took the dog out for a lovely walk this morning and have de-christmased the house. Looks all bear now but was getting fed up with it all.

Not done any real fabbing yet other than the normal shower, hair wash and moisturise. Must do more as I look really tired and pale.

I'm sat watching 'fat a year to save my life' with the lovely Jessie. Its amazing what can be achieved in a year when you put your mind to it. So I'm giving myself this year to change my life round, I'm fed up of using my weight as an excuse for not doing things and using my condition as well. Although there are some things I can't do there are lots that I can.

    Have a good one xx

Well my list for today was a trip to the tip & CS but I've moisturised (as always!) AND put on some BB cream & mascara & lipstick & perfume. Very nice 'young man' helped unload the boot of the heavy items - I think it was 'cos its his job, not the 'fab' me!!! I thanked him very nicely though ;)
It just crossed my mind that one of the nicest things we can do that lifts our spirits and others is to SMILE - it makes us look so much more attractive & is so nice to receive - and costs nothing.

Fantastic post Silvasava - and you are so right about the smile - it can lighten up the day and can transform the plainest face ( not suggesting you are plain:rotfl: but you kniw what I mean)

The most beautiful face can be spoilt by a scowl.....

Anyway I'm sure that you looking fab must have helped at the tip.

Just to let you know I went to Aldis - they had a great selection of recipe books and fitness books, all for £2-99'- some books on yoga and stretching.

They also had some great offers on fitness equipment, yoga mats, kettle Balls, small hand weights etc.

I didn't buy any equipment because I'm ok in that dept, however I did buy some bathroom scales, so I have no excuse now:rotfl:

I've no idea how much I weigh, I think I know but I also think I will be in for a shock when I do finally get on the scales. All I know is that I weigh too much. I'll check later.

Going back to the smile thing......,

Aldis was rammed. Doing my good deeds for the day I directed a young couple behind me to a checkout that was less busy than our queue. They thanked me profusely. Behind them was a lady with just two items so I let her go before me. She was all smiles and thanks. Next thing you know everyone around was smiling, chatting and helping each other.

Smile - as often as you can - even at complete strangers. A smile is contagious.

If you want to be fabulous then always remember to do a little good deed whenever you can.

Pay it forward and spread the lurve:rotfl::rotfl:

Just sipping my tea, still not liking it without sugar yet.:o I'll persevere.

I've just signed up for my next Open University course - my first at level 2! I also bought some hair dye and concealer, not very exciting, but necessary. DH is out again tonight so I'm going to have a pamper session.
Dry January is going well so far, I know it's only the 2nd but I started early so it'll be a week tomorrow for me. I'm going out for a friend's birthday tomorrow, so there'll be a lot of booze about, but I shall drink soft drinks and use it as an excuse to dress up a a little.

    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Afternoon Fabbers

Great advice LL, I used to have good posture to the point that people commented on the way I walked = straight and tall with a purposeful stride :D

Well I've started the year as I mean to go on, rather than take my sloth-like approach; generally spending about 2 hrs pottering about in my dressing gown before getting showered and dressed. I breakfasted, showered, hair and make-up done, dressed smartly in a skirt....2 days in a row  before I started my pottering.

Todays a bit different, togged out in my cosy stretch trousers as I've been for a 2-3 mile walk along the beach, its a bit chilly, but the sun is shining. A much needed stretch of the legs, blew away the cobwebs and yes I was thinking posture....posture with each stride.

I'm doing a bit of baking this afternoon and thought if I am going to maintain this "Fab" look when I am cooking I really need a fabulous apron/pinny whatever you prefer to call it. I quite fancy a 1940's look, not the Hilda Ogden utility type but the a-line skirt, bib, shoulder straps, waist tie; ;)

Oh dear just realised how that sounds.....whats the Singlie equivalent to a Stepford Wife .......not really the look I was thinking of.

Need2Bthrifty - Oh no - not 40's style - how about one printed with basque, stockings & suspenders - great when you answer the front door - haha

Just googled comic aprons & there's a 'Wonder Woman'?????

Well I am still busy with my less than exciting task however I will be finished with it by Sunday at the latest and that is when my pamper evening is penciled in :D

Daily I have been making an effort to shower, body moisturise and keep up my skincare regime and I have joined the slimming world thread and am doing their EESP plan for the week to give me a kick start. What I need to work on is exercising as I have been in the house working for days so come Monday I will get back into my exercise routine :)

I can feel my body detoxing slowly after all the excesses of the festive season and I have had a dull headache all day :( however I am focussing on the feeling of fabulousness when the fruit, veg and exercise hit my system!

Smiling and standing tall are two quick and easy ways to instantly make yourself look and feel fabulous and I try to work on them as often as I can so thank you for the reminders :)

Hi can I please join you lovely ladies? Heard about you all over on the toiletries challenge thread. Was very good last year & lost 2 stones 4 my holiday but it's crept back on & I feel frumpy again. Have made pledge 2 myself & the family that I'll stay dry in January, eat my 5 a day & try 2 exercise more. So far so good. Didn't drink yesterday & ate my 5 a day but did have horrendous stomach ache today. Bought the new Just Dance WII game & have played it twice 4 an hour each time. Am massively unfit though as it takes me a couple of days 2 recover in between.

Looking forward 2 chatting 2 you all xx
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
