Roganos. oF course, thanks for that.....:D

I am aiming to go to Edinburgh Next month.. I want to see FIL. I know it sounds a bit morbid but the dementia is starting to take a hold and I want to see him before it's too late.

Who knows I might even get over to Glasgow, whilst I'm at it.
Can you recommend a nice hotel in the centre.......I haven't been to Scotland since 1975.

I'm going to buy my senior citizen rail card next week and then I can start planning my trip.

Anyway I'm going back to bed again, see if I can get another hour or so.;) .

Chanie - just wanted to thank you for mentioning sites about body shape. I had a look last night.

It seems that I am now finally getting it right and have worked out what kind of styles I should be looking for.

I am currently a "full hour glass" and I want to,get back to being a "neat hour glass". :D. Although I am overweight at least my basic shape hasn't changed and my body is still in proportion.

So yes fitted clothes, v or scoop necks and boot cut trousers or jeans are the best choice for me. I had already discarded all my loose fitting, baggy tops and all my narrow legged trousers, so I'm definitely on the right track.

So at least I can make the mostof my body shape and look a bit slimmer whilst I tackle my weight. Hopefully that should give me a bit of a boost and a psychological edge. Hope so because I'm really struggling at the moment.

Since my wardrobe cull I haven't got a lot of clothes that fit me, however if I drop down a size there's plenty to get me through the summer. So I need to really make an effort now to shift half a stone or so and drop a dress size.

So today it's time to get back on the wagon......;)

    Morning:)
Hope you're feeling better today, lesson learned and that everyone has a good, and healthy fab Friday.
Just waiting for a very non-Mse grocery shop to be delivered - eldest home from uni this weekend and I've gone overboard on the goodies; will have to reign it in a bit henceforth as I've taken my eye off the ball a bit lately with regard to the Mse-ing - need to get more frugal (but less frumpy of course :D)
Lots of house fabbing done yesterday - still not feeling quite up to scratch but it's always a better feeling when you know the house is clean and vacuumed!
Once shopping has been put away and dog walked, I'll have a soak and make myself presentable before popping out to pick up some bits hubby wants from garden centre.
Want to get some ironing done today too, but I'm determined to make time for some mind-fabbing today - to read something informative and to do something I've been threatening to do all year; find a course or some training that might get an old bird like me back into the workplace, or even give me the tools to do something from home!
Recently OH and I met up with friends we've not seen in years, which was lovely - we've all hit 50 now - the other ladies in the group have all returned to work or set up small home businesses over the years, since their kids have grown up; all except me. It's really hit me since seeing them, how much more self confident, and comfortable with themselves they are now, and how great they look for it!
I really think there's so much to be said for a sense of self worth in terms of making you feel and look fab!
Anyway, enough droning on from me - have a good day everyone:)

    .
Sorry, I'm clueless about hotels there - as I live so close I never need to stay! There are all the usual suspects though in or near the town. Sorry I couldn't be more help - hope you have a good trip! The Barras is still going strong if you're there at the weekend - and I don't have to warn you to keep firm hold of your handbag!! LOL
    Looking ahead

Hi everyone, I'm mostly lurking but reading regularly.

The discussion about further learning was interesting, I'd love to do something else but I can't make the time at the moment. I wondered if you had all seen this: https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/categories

LL we stayed at a nice Premier Inn near the Grass Market in Edinburgh last year if that helps.

ll can't remember if I mentioned it, but I'm an inverted triangle but with a big chest, so I really struggle with tops. You are lucky to be a neat hourglass as that's the most versatile body shape. I went to ikea today bought some crockery, so I guess we have the same plates!!!!!

I have been doing a little fabbing this week. I had a funeral to go to and needed something to wear asnmynfuneal dress make me look like a sausage in a sausage skin,or a bag of ferrets bursting to get out if you like. Anyway, I popped out yesterday and managed to get a nice pair of Capri pants and a black shirt. Unfortunately being short the trousers come to the ankle so need to be turned up.

Anyway I wore them today and felt fab. Later I put the shirt with the new jeans I also got this week and looked good if I say neo myself. I haven't felt this good in clothes for a long time. I also treated myself to some new foundation and eyeliner. I feel like a new woman.

I'm definitely keeping up with this. Thanks for the inspiration.

Glad you hear you are feeling good, Parsniphead.

This Fabbing lark does work, you just need to give it time....

Chanie. Unfortunately I'm a Full Hourglass at the moment. Not yet a neat hourglass...... But at least I'm in proportion and as long as I don't eat grains then my tummy is surprisingly flat considering I am a good 3 stones overweight.

I had another declutter today, did all the shelves and chest of drawers, weeded out the towels and linens. Let's face it I don't need 3 white tablecloths.:rotfl: one is quite enough considering I use place mats most of the time..... I bought some nice new towels recently but haven't used them, I kept using the tatty ones. Why do I do that, save stuff for best and continue using old stuff.. Surely I'm worth the best!!!

Chanie, I really like that range of white Ikea pottery. For saying it's only 80p an item it looks really elegant. I bought large plates, small plates, small bowls and large bowls. The large bowls double up as pasta bowls or salad bowls and the other day I used them as serving bowls for vegetables. They looked dead posh.......:D

This time I'm not saving my new crockery for best. I rescued a few good pieces of the old crockery for the chazza shop, the old tatty plates I'm using as plant pot saucers for my larger garden pots. Very MSE.;)

Floss - thanks for the premier inn tip, I'll look it up. My SIL lives about 30 minutes south of Edinburgh and I shall sleep there, but I might pop over to Glasgow and stay overnight there and do a bit of sightseeing before returning home. If I recall its only about 30 minutes from Edinburgh to Glasgow by train.

I think rather than a big holiday this year which might make me feel a bit lonely I think I might prefer to just do a couple of short city breaks. Edinburgh and Glasgow would be a good start.
