    Evening All

It's been a wet and blustery day most of today although it stayed fine for our run this morning - 9 miles today! It took 2 hours and my legs were really tired once I got in so I've laid on the sofa for a couple of hours this afternoon with my Kindle. I wasn't sure if I'd be up to Circuits and Aerobics tonight but have decided to go and take it easy if I need to.

I like the outfits, Maman. If I wear shorts at all they tend to be the tailored beige type that I team with a black t-shirt. I don't wear bikinis but have just treated myself to a new swimsuit. It's black and has ruched sides and is supposed to enhance your shape. I treated myself to a season ticket for our local pool this week - it's an outdoor one but very warm. I went to the early morning swim on Monday and it was lovely with the sun shining and surrounded by trees etc as it's in a park. I need to go an average of 3 times per week to make it cost effective so thought it would be a good incentive. I went last year and the year before quite often for the early morning swims so am hoping to do that again plus take DGD once a week as I'm now having her most Saturday mornings.

With the running and swimming I am building up a bit of a tan, though being blonde I don't like to get too much sun. The early morning exposure is good as I am less likely to burn. I used to burn at the drop of a hat but since I started taking Vitamin D tablets daily I seem much more resilient. I've been invited to go along on a tennis holiday in Portugal in October so it would be nice to build up a bit of resistance by then.

My weight loss is going very slowly so I am not likely to make my target by the 10k run. Still as long as I keep going down it doesn't matter how slow it is I suppose. My jeans kept slipping down today so I am hoping that they are getting a bit big for me rather than any other reason. Although I haven't lost much on the scales I have lost inches- an inch each off my bust, waist and hips and an inch and a half from my stomach. I had hoped to lose more weight with all the exercise I am doing but probably I am not cutting the calories enough. I don't really want to count calories or cut my portions too much as I want it to be sustainable in the long term.

Right, time to go out for my classes. Wednesdays are the only day I do double exercise so I shall have a chocolate treat when I get home.

    Hi everyone,

It sounds like everyone is really busy at the moment and there seems to be lots of exciting news!!!

Fabbing is going fine in chanie-world. What I really need to focus on, is weight loss. My weight has really crept up over the last 12 months and I think now I'm in my mid 30s, I'm finding that the weight is going on much easier.

The goid news is that my skin is looking better. I really think it's down to the body shop oil in serum which I've been using. Other than my weight, I think I'm pretty fab at the moment.

DD265 good luck with the packing. 3 years ago I moved out of the home I'd been in for 17 years and the packing and getting rid of stuff was exhausting. But it was oh so exciting to start in the new home with everything sorted. Well done with the weight. :T

Rose you are amazing with all your exercise. No wonder the inches are melting away.:j

LL I hope the negotiations with the house go well.

My news is I started my new job this week, but only had to go to a meeting on Tuesday. Start working Monday and Wednesday from next week. I've been sorting out what to wear, and ordered some new shoes and a jacket.
A while ago I had an Eden Energy medicine session at the local womens centre. Today I spent a lovely morning doing a workshop to learn how to use the techniques to keep healthy and keep the energy flowing. Then came home and napped while it rained and everything blowed around outside. Hope to get out for a long bike ride this weekend.

    Happy May fabbing everyone :D

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Rowan - good news about the job, hope you love it. Just did a quick google about Eden medicine - looks interesting. As you know I have a keen interest in complementary therapies etc - I think they can be a real help to optimising health and well being. I know some people think its all a bit new age, hippy dippy but I'm a believer.;)

Lives today are complicated and often stressful so anything that helps promote health and well being is useful. And, whilst I'm not anti doctors by any means, I don't think they have all the answers. I think Western medicine is sometimes a bit too reliant on drugs and medication, weve all become too keen on popping pills as a quick fix solution. Deep down we all know that we need to,assume more responsibility. Doctors do indeed perform daily miracles but we do need to help them do their jobs.

I was really pleased to see that DS1s girl is now feeling much better. She too has cleaned up her act. She is Venuzuelan and came to the UK via Spain where she did her PHD.

Whilst in Venuezuela and Spain she ate a traditional healthy diet. When she came to the UK she started picking up,all our bad dietry habits and her health began to suffer.

Thankfully, with DS1 helping her (he does most of the cooking) she has come back into the healthy eating fold and is now getting better. She still has a very sweet tooth though, but DS1 is a fabulous baker and cake maker so he has said he will ensure her sweet treats are home made and not full of rubbish and chemicals.

DS2 made his first ever cakes this weekend, they were really good. He used Spelt flour and fresh blueberries, so they were healthy too!!

Today it's finally stopped raining, so,I will get out and about. A trip to the tip, drop some bags off at the chazza and then do some shopping, then view the first of the houses I mentioned.

Yesteday, when I was Decluttering I found a stash of old coins, and foreign banknotes. Both my husband and my mum were like little squirrels, always putting things in safe places and the forgetting all about them. I keep stumbling across their treasures .......

I need to sort out the coins, some are quite old. It would be nice to find a couple of valuable ones.....

.....I should be so lucky :rotfl::rotfl:

Rose. Well done on the inch loss. Great stuff.

Hope the new job goes well Rowan.

Sounds like everyone's having a good go with fabbing.:)

I'm doing my bit. I remember someone saying a few months back that shellac is bad for nails. Well after having it on for about a year at least I've decided to have a break as nails were getting a bit soft. So I had it taken off yesterday and not repainted. I've put some cuticle oil and handcream in the sitting room so it's operation pamper for a few weeks. I'll have it done again for my holiday next month.

I did buy the shorts and also a new bikini from Sainsbury's. And I'm trying these sandals
    http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/product/women-1020590/sandals-2717985/nude-crossover-jelly-sandal-4245935?bi=81&ps=40

Incredibly light and comfortable and I though ideal for by the pool. I'm waiting to see if I prefer similar offerings in M&S etc. before I commit.

Determined to go through my holiday clothes this week so I can decide what I still like, what can go to chazza shop and what I need to replace. Great I don't have to think about what still fits!!:D Still doing well on healthy eating. I do lapse when I eat out but soon rein back.

Still keeping up the general fabbing. I opened a new body lotion today. Aldi's mature one in maroon bottle. It's great stuff, so rich and creamy and cheap enough to be generous with it.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. Bright but blustery here, better than forecast. Seem to have a lot of time on my hands since DH got involved in his project but I'm happy.

Rowan, good luck with the new job

ll I agree about the stresses of life - don't have the answer though.

I just got back from a family party. Again, I wasn't wearing a particularly glamorous outfit, but I wore heels and light make up and I got lots of comments about how good I looked. Great for motivating me to keep it up.

    Hi everyone

I joined this thread last year, or possibly the year before for a short time but got sidetracked. I would like to come back if I may.

I have three stones to loose and between January and Easter last one stone all but 1lb. After a nasty virus which wiped me out for a few weeks I fear that I have put it all back on. I want to be motivated to get rid of it again and think looking after myself in other ways will help.

The issues, well I don't look after myself. My diet has gone downhill. I want to change this to set an example to the little one and also feel better.

Clothes. Goodness I look so shabby, actually a total mess. I have brought a couple of lovely pieces from the charity shop today to help tide me over as I loose weight again. I need some more stuff to start looking human again. I'm also a dressmaker so I have NO excuse for looking the way I do.

My skin is dreadful. I need more water and a proper regime. The odd lick of make up at times would help too.

Nails......don't ask. Gardening and using lots of dyes at work takes its toll.

Self confidence is rock bottom.:( this needs to change.

The good points. I can loose the weight. I did so earlier this year. Perfume, I always have my perfume on.

In October I will hit 45 and I have already had someone ask my little one if he was having a nice day out with nanny. I don't want this to happen again when he start school in September. I'm going to be surrounded by 20 something's.

    Help.:)

    Good Morning Everyone.

Hello Parsniphead. Welcome to the thread. Sounds like you are feeling a bit low, the Nanny remark can't have helped, but if it helps you to get and stay motivated then perhaps in a roundabout way maybe it's done you a favour.

I think a lot of us have had "a moment" like that, either a remark or a photo that stops us in our tracks. For me it was a photo. Ouch!!! It gave me a shock but it did the trick. I've had my upsand downs since then but ive never hit rock bottom like that again.

I do have to be honest though. I am really struggling at the moment. I have lost my mojo again :o. Can anyone help me find it.:rotfl:

I guess a lot of it is down to the ongoing stress of two bereavements. It would have been mums 90th birthday yesterday and last evening I did feel rather low. I tried to sort out some photos. Big mistake. That's a job for when I'm stronger.

I m feeling fragile so I need to look for nice life enhancing things right now preferably not chocolate, wine or cake!!!

Like many of you I too need to buy some new clothes but, as I am determined to lose weight, I don't want to spend much. On Friday I popped into Sainsburys and picked up a few bits off their reduced rail.

I got a pale grey long cardigan/coat thingy, quite thick and chunky but not heavy. I wore it yesterday instead of a coat. I now have two of these big chunky long cardigans and they are very useful for what I call "in between" weather, ie not cold enough for a winter coat but not really warm enough for a light jacket.

I also picked up a top and a long floaty skirt for when it's hot. Each item was half price so I only spent £28 so not too bad. The good news is the top Is a size 16 so I am getting there - very very slowly.

I really do need to up my game though. My skin is not great so time for some extra TLC and I'm really struggling to shift the weight. I am eating well but I have not been exercising. I really need to get moving more. It's a bit of a vicious circle at the moment. I'm In pain and my muscles are sore and stiff so I don't feel like exercising, however I know that if I exercise it helps reduce pain and stiffness.

So yesterday I bought myself a new Swiss ball and I shall make it my top priority this week to finish organising the study and sorting out a space for a cross trainer.

I have decided to break this elephant down to small bites:rotfl: setting myself weekly targets.

    So this week.....

Exercise - use the Swiss ball every day, start using hand weights again and a walk every day.

Hopefully the weather will pick up soon and then I aim to start in the garden. DS2 can do the heavy stuff but I can do some planting and weeding etc.

I will start paying my skin some attention and I will buy some new makeup.

Today I am popping to Wilkinsons for some diy and gardening bits so I shall browse the chazza shops again.

There now it's in writing so I'm committed...........

Thank you for the welcome lessonlearnd. I can't say I'm down really, just annoyed with myself for getting to this stage. Two days if fabbing though has made a difference.

I'm sorry that you have had such a difficult time. One bereavement is hard enough without having to deal with two. Sometimes I think we forget to take time to heal ourselves properly and push ourselves to carry on as normal. After reading back through the thread you come across as such a positive and inspiring person who offers so much support to others and is really well thought of.

The cardi sounds lovey I had a couple when I used to work for a well known ladies clothes shop. They are so useful.

A bit of garden time sounds lovely. Its such a lovely way to lift the spirits.

I hope you find your mojo soon.

    Good Morning lovely ladies

Well not sure if my mojo is back for good, but I definitely feel brighter this morning. ;)

I had a lovely time mooching round the shops yesterday. I picked up some grey/fine navy stripe Per Una trousers, a gorgeous blue vase, and a posh gift set with body oils and hand made soaps. £9 the lot:D
I also bought some new bronzing powder and some basic Boots cologne for day wear.

Having said that I still have some perfume oils which I really should really start using. Time to start making some concoctions.........

Today is a pottering day, exercise, gardening, a bit more decluttering, some fabbing....

Todays Fabbing will be a face mask, pedicure and manicure.

    Manicure after the gardening;)

    Have a great day.
