    Evening All.

A quick post before I go out for Circuits and Aerobics. It's nice and sunny now but poured with rain this morning. I'd just got ready to go for a run when the heavens opened so we had to cancel. However, I fitted one in at 12.45 after a meeting and DH and I had a very late lunch after. It was 4 miles today but a bit faster than our long run. DD265 you asked how long our 8 mile run took. We take it very easy and can chat as we jog along so it took one and three quarter hours. Today's run was a faster speed and we were too breathless to chat really. My friend is the one who decides what we are doing and I just go along to keep her company. I keep telling her that she's my personal trainer and that she would be earning a fortune if she really was.

This morning once the rain started I decided to sort some paperwork. I filled in this years tax return and got it sent off and put all the various bits of paper I shall probably never look at again but can't really throw away into a box, labelled it and stuck it under the spare room bed. It means my desk drawers are a lot neater and tidier now and my files are no longer bulging.

It was so cold this morning I reverted back to more wintry clothing and put on my favourite wine coloured sweater dress with leggings. DS and I had a meeting with a local company which went on for 90 minutes so that took care of the rest of the morning.

We've been having fun and games with our hens this week. We rehomed the oldest 4 and bought 4 new ones but they aren't integrating well. We are keeping them separate but where they can see each other but they are still squabbling. One of the new ones managed to squeeze through a tiny gap behind our compost bin to lay an egg and then couldn't get out. DH had to rescue her but couldn't reach the egg so I ended up dangling over it whilst he held my ankles while I retrieved it!! I expect we looked very funny if anyone had been able to see it.

Maman your comment about the shirts reminded me that I should be getting a batch from DS shortly. Rather than a physical present he usually prefers a voucher from me for his birthday offering to iron his shirts. However, he usually waits till he has virtually run out before bringing them round so I end up doing 2 dozen or more at a time.

Right, nearly time to walk round to my exercise class so I had better go and sort out my drink and my mat.

maman would reducing milk products help with the catarrh? It's my first port of call when I'm like that, and I take garlic capsules at bedtime ( to give the smell time to leave me by morning - even though they say they don't smell!)

RoseWood You put me to shame with your running! Well done for fitting it in to your busy schedule.

Yesterday wasn't quite as busy as Monday - I went to the big shopping centre, first thing to M&S, then we, DH & I, met up with DD and my parents for a cuppa. I went car shopping with DD and later met up with parents to look at new phones. Didn't buy any as they didn't have the ones we wanted in stock!

Home by teatime then out again to church later on.

Today, I've been to work. Home by 3.30, then haircut, home to make tea. Going to bake a cake for the church coffee morning now.

Fabbing-wise, I've bought some big blue bags from that Swedish shop to use when I start sorting my clothes - probably tomorrow.
My plan is to have a bag for things to keep and others for the Charity shop and to throw out/ give to the Air Ambulance collection. DH has just put together 2 bigger sets of drawers for our bedroom so we have better storage now.

I have put earrings in today. I keep forgetting and the holes are starting to close so it was a bit difficult. I must wear them more regularly.......

If you don't mind the look of a pair of small hoops, buy some sleepers (hinged hoops). I wear mine 24/7 - usually the gold, as opposed to the white gold (or are they silver? I can't remember) and can just forget I'm wearing them. They don't risk coming out like wire earrings, and they don't stab me when I'm sleeping like studs!

beluga congrats on getting a place on the course. Sounds great.

Rose you are the queen of exercise, I'm impressed. :j

My news is I have a new job to start next week, so need to get a bit of fabbing in before then. It's 2 days a week temporary for 3 months with a local charity so it fits in well with my hypnotherapy work.

I went for another long bike ride at the weekend and I'm loving it. On the eating side of things I always eat healthy food but lately have been topping it off with cake and biscuits. I'm hoping being out at work more will stop me munching my way through the day. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone :) Feeling a bit more positive today - CBT on Tuesday always wears me out emotionally but I think I'm getting a little better at dealing with it. Keeping busy helps, but my brain's a bit frazzled at the moment and nothing important seems to stay in there, so just focusing on one thing at a time and getting as prepared as I can.
Busy day again tomorrow, two reading groups, a meeting and my confidence course, then home to fab myself up for the weekend - it's my Saturday volunteering drop in session 12 till 4, then meeting DH and some friends for a drink or two to celebrate his birthday.

I could really do with updating my wardrobe to suit my new, busier life :) I don't need to dress up as such, but I tend to have either going out or super casual stuff, so something in between would be good. I'd also like a new decent sized handbag that I can fit folders etc in, and some comfy but smart shoes. Don't want much, do I? :D

This thread definitely helps get me motivated, love hearing how well everyone's doing. Must do better with the eating and exercise, but not done too badly this week so feeling better.
    Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Oooh I love planning outfits.:) Are you looking for something suitable for attending meetings/going to the pub? Why not look around when you're out (constructive people watching) and get ideas from people dressed how you'd like to look. Do you favour trousers or skirts especially with summer in mind? Will the comfy shoes have heels? TK Maxx have lots of handbags big enough for folders or you could go for a larger shopper/tote type bag, plenty of those around too.

Give us some clues and we can chip in.

I'm out for a meal with a friend tomorrow evening so definitely doing fab Friday.

Really pleased as I found the discontinued Benefit tinted moisturiser I like for sale on line. I've done click and collect at John Lewis and supposed to collect at my local Waitrose tomorrow. It's not cheap but it has a dewy, fresh look as I find foundations too heavy.
  • Good morning all, coming out of lurking for a moment. Am going away next week so fabbing today is hair cut, regrowth colour and t section highlights - bit expensive but worth it as I'm grey even white places and at the age of 38 :(
For ladies who use hair straighteners, are Ghds worth the money and what heat protection products do people use? I have thick shoulder length hair that has a strong wave.

Just popped in to wish everyone a happy new month. I have been trying to keep up with the fabbing, although have been doing lots of gardening in my old clothes:D

This week I have had a lovely new haircut, a much shorter bob, longer at the front, it has given me quite a boost.

OH and I leave on Monday for 3 weeks in our caravan touring Scotland, the weather forecast indicates cold and wet, space is an issue, so clothes will have to be practical layers and washable fabrics for sightseeing, everything will have to be tumble dried as we are moving around a lot.

    Good morning ladies.

I had a lovely evening, the happy couple looked blissful, the lovely M looked radiant. She hasn't been too well this last couple of weeks soit was good to see her back on form. My sister looked stunning and I scrubbed up quite well. I didn't wear the silver dress because when I tried it on I just didn't feel right, so I wore a black and white number I picked up from ASDA for £10 a few months ago and which I had never worn.

For saying it was such a cheap and cheerful frock it got a lot of compliments. Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to look nice.

When I was sorting out mums clothes I came across a couple of outfits that I hadn't the heart to throw away. One was a little Cape with a fur trim. I wore it last night - so in a way mum got to go to her grandsons party....:D

Nothing special planned for the weekend, just a gentle potter......DS2 is off and he is planning on doing some baking.......

    Should be interesting. :rotfl:

Have a lovely holiday, Maddie. Hope the weather is kind. Scotland is so beautiful though even in the rain......
