struck down with lergy here :( and having very little sleep.

Same here. Well, I dont have the lurgy, I have passed it on to OH and DS2. DS1 is suffering with his Crohn's and the Christmas food doesnt help. Either someone was coughing or in and out of bed all last night so I also feel like I have had a night on the tiles!!

Sorry to hear that Valli. And a little moments pause for anyone not in the Christmas spirit, for whatever reason.

We had our big family tea here last night and it was a great success. Loads of leftovers to work our way through now. Last day at work this morning (not that I am going to be much use for anything) then hairdressers for a bit of pampering.

A few pressies to wrap and I need to work out the menu for Christmas day and then it will be some much needed down time for me. Have a good day everyone.

Valli im so sorry news like that is hard to bear at any time but the christmas season with all its 'enforced jollity' seems to make it hit harder. my thoughts are with you and all friends and family concerned.

The news from Glasgow yesterday as just awful for the people in the area it must have been horrific, my thoughts are with every one affected and those whos loved ones were involved, such a tragic accident

Mamaninie there was something in the paper last week about grapefruit dipped in salt shifting the grease and buildup from ovens without the harsh chemicals, ive yet to try it and as other have said would google etc first.

hope everyone with the christmas lurge or just feeling generally stressed or down have some relief from it today.

i need to find a wat to slow time to half speed so i stand some chance of achieving everything i have left

    hugs all

Such sad news all round yesterday, somehow seems worse at this time of year, though of course it's not. I'll be thinking of all those with an empty space at the Xmas dinner table this year.

    Me too.

My friend is very unwell and in a lot of pain despite morphine and co-codamol; yesterday she stayed in bed all day. Her son was in a talkative mood, which is most unusual - possibly because his 7-year-old daughter was at the house and he is trying very hard to make life as "normal" as possible for her, but of course she is very upset by what is going on. I am going round to sit with my friend later this morning while they go out shopping for a Christmas present for the little girl's Mummy. A male official from social services is coming to assess my friend for Attendance Allowance (or whatever they're calling it this month) and she can't get downstairs to open the door, and needs a chaperone. They can't give her an ETA until about half an hour before, which means I could be there all day.

Unfortunately I shall have to cancel my 10.30 manicure :( I don't like doing so at such short notice, when someone else could have used the slot, but I can't see an alternative - the salon was shut yesterday. The son wants to go out at about 11.00. I could ask him to delay, but not the SS man. We also want to go to SW at 9.30. Time management and patience vibes would be greatly appreciated.

I made a fruit-salad-in-a-pineapple for the SW Christmas party as soon as I got up this morning
Now I must shower and dress, then cut out some more eyes for the finger puppets. I have just tried punching out circles of white felt with the hole punch and using a permanent felt-tip for the black centres, and it works :D - safer for toddlers than goggle eyes or small beads, and it saves me another trip to the craft shop ;)

Don't know when I shall be able to fly round the house. It's tidy and will just have to make do with a quick hoover and mop - the bookshelves are covered in cards and holly, so I'm not disting them :rotfl:

GWS vibes to all poorlies. Hope everyone else has a good day x

Ok, so posivibes, time managing vibes and whatever else is needed today winging their way to all flyladies.

Today's list is pretty much done for me. I still have dusting to do from yesterday's list and the stairs have not been hoovered since Sunday.

So far I have made mince pies, done the ironing and hoovered downstairs. Oh and done the washing up. Time to get dressed and walk the dogs before the paid stuff.
Spend less now, work less later.

I too have SW party today. made mini quiches late yesterday and had to try one - yummy and all free!!! recipe on website.

Had a lovely "party" last evening. Made M Berry chocolate cake - so I wouldn't eat it - and it went down really well. Wish I had taken photo of NDN Daughter!! Large bowl, large spoon and large piece of cake - disappeared into a tiny mouth and the eyes said it all!!!! Large piece of leftover went next door for rest of family and the other piece to DH work this morning. I love baking!!
We played dominoes and had a great time drinking Kir Royal (not NDN d!). I had forgotten about the minute bottle of Cassis we bought in France in June!

Need to get on with paperwork today as it is all in a heap in our bedroom - but as LW says I'll need something to keep me occupied over the break - so that and my knitting'll do! I need desperately to get it done as yesterday played hide and seek looking for the cheque book and an ISA cert I thought I'd lost!!

Please remember to ".... and breathe" today. xx
