Have you received your card yet?
Its been aound 10 weeks now, due to lost in post letters etc and now they have received my check and the check has gone through they are now saying that they have to hold the money for 10 working days and then send me my card. so stupid.... my application must of been the slowest.0 -
My Capital one classic came in ten days, if they need a deposit? They always seem to forget about the letter thinking you won’t have the money!
Then you ring them up and the letter comes the next day?
It’s nice to have one, but the limit is used up quickly .I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
I was accepted and got my Capital One card earlier this week - took almost three weeks to arrive. Really don't think much to their customer service, which transfers to some godforsaken part of the world somewhere where no one speaks very much English!
Rate if crap at 29ish% APR which won't matter as I will be paying back in full each month.
No deposit required and a reasonable credit limit.0 -
I got my T&Cs through about 2 weeks ago and duly returned them. Then on Tuesday I received a letter asking for £200 deposit. I rang them up and (politely!
) told them to stuff it. I have since written a letter asking them to look at my application again. If they cannot waive the deposit or change the card from Classic to Premium I want the application deleted in its entirety and the searches removed. Doubtful, but worth a try. CapOne should have received the letter yesterday but, knowing their customer service, will not get a reply until mid-August.

Gave them a 200 Pound deposit, then they decided that they have changed their minds on giving me a card at all and that they will be returning my deposit. After waitning for 11 weeks. what a waste of time they are.0

I think it's awful that the have told you 'yes', then you send the money they required for a deposi,t and even went as far as to cash it, and then negate on the offer...... surely you would be entitled to some 'proper' explanation as WHY they took your money and then changed their minds...i would push for some sort of compensation for the interest you could have 'lost' on the £200 they have taken from you and the time it will take to reimburse you.....just a thought
Good luck0 -
Str4berr3 I find that highly unusual that they'd offer you a secured card and then go back on it. Did you have any adverse financial activity take place during the application process that might've been reflected in your credit files?I know nothing0

I think i know what the problem was;
I gave my utilities bill money to them thinking, 'I soon i get the card i will pay the bills with my new card, unfortunatley the plan did not go well as they had been as they post some of the letters to another home similar to my address which meant i never received a comfirmation til i phoned them up, each phonecall was giving me different dates when i will receive the card, they say that they will hold on to the deposit for 10 working days after there received payment, but it took much longer, now i have no money to pay bills (which i am now behind ) till my next pay which will be the 15th.
Last time i phoned them was last Wednesday, to hurry them up again, but told me that after another credit check I won't getting the card and will be sending back the deposit.
I better ring them again cos i need the deposit to cover the bill asap as there wont be card. Wonder how long will the deposit take to come back to me? hope not another 11 weeks......
Oh! and my debit card was stolen, thank god for chip and pin as they could'nt use it anywhere, accept Subway sandwiches, it was only 4.80 spent but that took me OD which will be reimburst.0 -
OOPS!!!
I completly forgot about this, (been away for a week after the letter arrived)
I still need to pay my deposit, hopefully still in time.
