I'm so over budget for this month, that I think I'm going to leave posting again until new challenge (September) I've even lost track of how over spent I am!!!

Time to look again at my budget & make a positive start to September!!!! :o

I know exactly how you feel. I'm going so over budget that I'm tempted to do the same, except I know that I'd probably spend even more than I would. Somehow posting on here makes me feel more commited to trying.
So I'm going to face facts, write the overspend up and try to absorb all the inspiration from others on here. Like you said, September is a new start and a new challenge. We'll do it next time! ;)

Had to get a few toiletries this morning so have sneaked them into this month's grocery budget (although I wasn't going to start including them till next month - which starts on Thurs for me), still under budget though, phew!

I'm not exactly mid-month - get paid on 23rd, so I run from then, tend to post targets in e.g. this thread (Aug) then copy them over to next one (Sept) once it's started.

Oh and Rosie.. Spam?? Blaaaaaaaaaah yuck! :p

  • As I posted earlier my budget has gone haywire this month so giving up until September. I have managed to sort out my personal spending and will keep to that budget as well. Before coming on here, if I saw something I liked I just bought it and told myself I deserved it but now I ask myself 'Do I need it' and 'do I want it'. Saw some nightwear by Per Una in M & S Saturday and just loved it but decided that although I did not need it I did want it but as I have a birthday coming up in September decided I would ask for vouchers and buy it the. How good its that? I refuse to go into the red at bank and instead look to what I can save towards a super holiday. I would be rich if I had used this site years ago. :A

Good for you being strong about spending! :T:T:T

I'm like you, if I'd found this site years ago I'd be sitting pretty now!

Well I'm back off my hols and I've spent £151.08 on groceries. I'm not including the money we spent on takeaways as really that was part of the holiday but we did quite well and took sandwiches out with us most days.

    Hi everyone.
Have had to go and buy a few bits today came in at £28.11 mainly for fruit, veg and salad stuff (as dh decided to cut down so my meal plan gone to pot for him now!!!)
But my total now stands at £228,80 with 11 days to go, so that still leaves me about £4 a day, getting ready for wash powder and softner but i think thats about all.
Im not quite sure how im doing this but im dead pleased with myself!!

Well I feel overbudget, although I'm still under the lowest monthly spend this year on groceries (£284 in June). We do still have a good stock of storecupboard/freezer, but need fresh stuff, and Mr T sent me £7 off £50....nasty Mr T :(:) . Went a bit overtop at the local shop on the weekend due to both of us having colds. STill far too much of the month to go to be complacent, especially since there's a BANK HOLIDAY involved! Hoping we'll car boot a couple of times, so that might mean we don't eat out as per norm on bankhol!
  • I feel as though i have completely lost the plot. We are so busy on the campsite at the moment - don't have anytime to log on and read the posts - which is what keeps me focused. I have had to use my bank statement to check what i have spent this month but not doing too bad at the moment. Next month i will be a lot more focused and log on everyday. I need to get back iinn control.

I've surprised myself this month, so far I've spent £47.99!:D

I have done a meal plan for the rest of the month and I can survive until the 1st of Sept with what I have left in the cupboards and freezer (I had a lot more chicken than I thought.)
I could probably do with some fresh veg, I have no lettuce, cucumber or peppers. I have no bread either. But I could do without these, I will just have to eat chips instead of salad! What a bummer! :rotfl:

I'm quite proud of myself and I'm sure you'll all forgive me if I pat myself on the back!
