My mother had Parkinson's, Elastic, and I was her principle carer for quite a while which is why I treasure your posts. 41 is very young to be diagnosed; huge hugs to you both.
Peter Pen returning vibes, and hugs for you too, Deco.
I have a Flylady Secret Santa parcel under the tree! Thank you to the sender. Lovely.
Never-ending tidying/sorting continues apace. I've managed to prune my extensive cookbook collection by two this morning and I think I've worked out how to store the lightbulbs so that I can find them when I need them. The builder's been and made positive window and atticky sounds - I don't think he'd realised three fifths of it was already boarded and lights up there so he was very smiley. He's also an extremely clean-working, good looking, very smiley chap, so having him around perks me up no end! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I've been listening to Serial on Radio 4Extra but missed it last night catching up on the final episode of The Missing. I'm very frustrated - Episode 11 still hasn't appeared on iplayer and it's driving me mad waiting for it.Better is good enough.0 -
A few cat come home vibes. They must found it really stressful when the house starts changing with piles of presents, visitors and general unusual goings-on. Not that he's in the house, but I feel really bad that all the attention I'm giving Mr Narc0's horse is a few pats and strokes while I'm mucking out/hanging up hay nets/filling water/giving food bowl. Actually he's only interested in the latter! Luckily he has open access to stable and field so he's not confined without exercise nor left out in bad weather.
Well yesterday I managed to see not one but 3 doctors (like buses, I haven't seen one for a week then 3 turn up). They seem pleased with progress. He's had some soup - doctor said it was fine for me to bring in food for him as the hospital food is carp. Yeh, in my spare time. So of course I'm making soup now, it's in the aga as I'm writing. I also saw the physio who reinforced the exercises he has to do, so I can be encouraging but not feel I'm pushing him.
Tomorrow morning I'm going to collect my Mum, should be a 2hr drive as my brother's brought her half way - but with current traffic who knows. She is a great flylady and says she's looking forward to helping me sort out the house as she knows I haven't had time to do anything except drop and run.
This morning apart from all the phone calls and emails, I've paid 3 bills, checked bank balances and written umpteen lists. Going to check over Mum's room now, just needs bed making up and a quick vacuum. If time before visiting (via Sainsbobs) I'm going to wrap up the few presents I'd got for my brother and sil, and print off the details of the charity we donated to as their 'real present'.
Keep smiling everyone and hugs to those needing it.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Just seen this on the book of faces and thought some if not all of us could perhaps relate to this
Me: I want a magical unicorn for Christmas
Santa: Be realistic
Me: Ok I want 5 minutes each day to drink my coffee whilst it is still hot and to be able to pee in peace
Santa: What colour unicorn would you like?0 -

Lots of Peter-come-home vibes.
I fear Flying is suspended; I'm having a really rough day with the lupus rubbish. I've managed to take Ronnie for his walk, and got some food down him (he's terrible for not eating when he's away from his own humans) and that's me done for.:(
Jazee (((HUGS))) sweetie; as one who battles with suicidal thoughts on a daily basis, your post was very poignant. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Got the main thing I went to garden center for so another couple of presents can be ticked off.
Need to look at ordering something online next then I'll take a look at my list and make the christmas pudding. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
