Great choice of charity ColinDear Dr Lomcevak:
THANK YOU
“Just to know that CHAS is there for us is amazing and the staff have made such an impact. We are given emotional support and we know that if anything is worrying us we can talk about it and it helps to take away the stresses and the strains. Compared to how we were before we had help from CHAS, they really have revived us. I honestly feel that CHAS has put the life back into our family.”
A parent’s view
Your donation of £50.00, paid with your Visa, is helping make a big difference to children and their families who need and deserve our care. As a Scottish charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, we rely on support such as yours to ensure we can be there when we are needed most.
What we do is all about giving people happy memories that are long lasting and precious. Over the past year we have helped over 200 families, not just at Robin House and Rachel House but also by reaching out to families in their own homes through our expanded CHAS at Home service.
Thanks to donations like yours, we are able to be there and make life a little bit easier for the families who depend on us. Thank you.
Best wishes

Spreadsheet updated - as usual any errors or omissions are entirely my fault
so please let me know and i'll get them fixed
Welcome to the journey chocoholic_chick, I took a guess and split your OPs 50/50 between Jan and Feb, hope that's ok.
After a really crappy few weeks at work it's always nice to arrive on this thread on a Saturday morning, the positivity is a great antidote to the post-work blues. I try to skim through at some point during the week too, but 60+ hour weeks have pretty much wiped out my evening browsing at the moment so i'm here but not a very active host. Well done to all who have made OPs this week, and in particular everyone chipping away with multiple OPs - as i'm sure i've said before I'm a huge fan of that approach, the bits and pieces here and there make an enormous difference in the long run0 -

I've just upped my mortgage payment by a static £20.58 per month to make it a nice round figure. I'm not technically overpaying at the moment (doing bog standard saving instead) so is this small figure worth keeping track of?
This thread last year kept me right on target but I'm not sure how to set a target when I'm only OPing £20 a month and little bits here and there?
I'm glad i'm not the only one who finds the need to get things to become nice round numbers - I had an incredulous lady at FD wondering why I was being quite so specific with my standing order. "...AND thirty-SEVEN pence....?" :rotfl:
I think it's worth keeping track of - it gets you in to the habit of making OPs, and they may get bigger in the future. And even if they don't, part of the magic of OPs is that even 'only' OPing a little each month makes a big difference over the life of a mortgage.
Personally i'd set a target that's a little above what you expect to pull together from a small regular OP and little bits here and there, it's very satisfying to achieve something that's a bit of a stretch, but not so much that it feels unachievable - the target's supposed to be a help, not a millstone. And if you don't quite make it, who minds?0 -
#84 here, £85.55 for Feb overpayment please.

Just popping in to say good luck to everyone this year.
I jumped in briefly at the end of last year, but so far this year want to build up my car fund and do a couple of things to the house first before working out any mortgage o/payments.
I haven't got far to go with it now anyway, so feel it's a good time to do other things right now whilst my job is in tact.
If the car fund ends up healthy later on in the year (I have a 2 - 3 year plan for this at the moment), I may jump in for the last half of the year if that's ok with you guys.
Anyhow......good luck everyone....:)Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0
