Spreadsheet updated, welcome to LurkinGerkin and cookie9. OPs from 51 MSE-ers so far, nice to see so many managing more than one OP too, great way to keep chipping away at the mortgage :T

Blimey, that's an impressive OP - your original target was £5000 so you've smashed that in the space of 15 days :D do you want a revised target?

Having spent the last week or so really analysing our current overpayment path, we (when I say we I really me I, as Mrs SJ just agrees :D) are making some adjustments to our plans.

We are now in the midst of a remortgage, don't worry we aren't taking any more money, so our major January overpayment will be delayed until we start out shiny new one. This will give us a very strong start to the new plan and we'll be able to throw an extra £150 per month at least.

So, apologies for any hassle Lomcevak but i'll need to amend out target to an ambitious 6.5k of overpayments rather than our initial goal of reducing the outstanding balance by 6k. Overall i'm aiming to reduce the balance this year by a minimum of 10k

Additionally i've found so much inspiration and admiration from reading so many diaries, not to mention tips and ideas, that i now have an ambitious plan of paying the mortgage off in a maximum of 132 payments from our remortgage start (hopefully at end of Feb). Needless to say i will be joining the ranks of the diarists (if that is even a word), as i simply have no-one else to converse with on our journey!!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
