No. 38. reporting in today. Paid off £20.00 Halifax,

My monthly DD has been reduced to £392.00. :j This year I am going to crack on with over payments like mad. I cant foresee any major expense this year. Last year we had the bathroom re-furbished, but the most that needs doing in the house is the flooring in the front room.

    Hi

Hope I'm not too late to join in.

My target is £2,000. I over pay by standing order each month and my January payment has gone out for £100.

Apologies for lack of spreadsheet update yesterday, was a tricky day and ran out of time. Now done

Chutney86 and lilahloo, welcome aboard, and mortgage destroyer and shangaijimmy i've updated your targets.

happydays 70 - well done on the OP, but I don't think you've said how much it was (either in the thread or via the form?)

usa1 - I assume that £400 and £20 are in addition to your earlier OP? i.e. you're now on £505 total? Makes it easier for me if you could report a running total so i'm sure what you are counting

skaps - you've reported £428.29 via the form a few days ago, is in addition to your earlier £528.29 posted on the thread on this thread? As the amounts are so similar I thought i'd check before updating

    PiggyBankShaker - you're unstoppable :D

shangaijimmy - good luck with the remortgage, often a very good thing to do. I went 'backwards' by £8k remortgaging a couple of years ago to get away from an expensive fixed-rate, depressing at the time but monthly interest dropped from £800/month to £300/month and now we're caught up again with where we would have been if we hadn't remortgaged and will really see the benefits over the next few years

On a personal note, i've been having a review of my finances and decided that my old car can last another year at least, so i'm going to up my OP target from 6k to 12k :D
  • morning, I paid another £69.36 today so thats a total of £890.39 this month.

*blush* Aww thanks! Other than the £1000, lump sum that was mean to go on in December that was a gift, the rest has just been 'extra' money we have made on ebay, swagbucks, mystery shopping etc. Our 'real' overpayments will start next month after we have finally cleared our kitchen loan.

  • Good work everybody!

One last overpayment for January for me of £53.53 (from a variety of little sources). January total is now £224.08.

My original total was £1,500. Could I amend it a little higher to £2,100 please?

Thanks again to Lomcevak for running this.

#67 with a first and little overpayment of £50 which is more a test of being able to transfer using online banking rather than making phonecalls more than anything.
  • #27 here. DH got paid today so sent £36 over to the mortgage. January total standing at £1459.
