Back to sign up for January, I'm going to aim for £220.
I now have almost a year's worth of GC history, so I'm going to try to spend the same or less than last year - I picked this idea up from someone on here and think it would be a great additional challenge.SPC # 348 2014-£169.07/2015 - £156.89

Hoping to get out to the shop to get some essentials today (if it's open) so I did a stock check of my freezer. Should be okay for food for a while!
3 packs of chicken thighs (each pack is good for 2 meals for us)
2 packs of mince (each pack is worth at least 2 meals for us)
Small back of chicken breasts
2 small packs of pork belly slices (husband won't eat these so these will make a meal for me and the kids)
A whole dinosaur/Turkey leg (bought before Xmas in a lapse of judgement!) will make at least 2 meals
Medium whole chicken - 2 meals, 3 if I make soup out of the bones
Pack of frozen fish (enough to make a decent fish pie)
Pack of 10 sausages
Small pack of sausage meat
2 Turkey and ham pies (might stretch to 2 meals each)
Sliced roast pork (not sure if I froze this in time so I mgiht have to chuck it...)
2 loaves of bread
Pack of 12 bread rolls
2 packs of ready rolled shortcrust pastry
Pack of ready rolled puff pastry
So that's at least 20 meals!
Not buying any meat in January (unless it is yellow snickered and a massive bargain so will go away for Feb) and will make it all last. Certainly don't need any junk food for a few months anyway!
Happy new year all! (It's also my birthday so hopefully off to ride my friends horse in a bit too)

Happy New Year Everyone !!
NSD for me today. Leftover soup and a HM loaf for lunch and then DS1s birthday choice (pizza etc) for dinner tonight.
Pretty sure I have enough food in for at least 4 days except for milk and bread so I am hoping not to have to go to the shop for a couple of daysDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Can I join in please with a monthly budget of £450 and then hopefully I will get it down?
I have spent £31.75 today at Mr As which included a birthday cake for my DD which was £16 (it should have been £10 but she wanted one with her photo on and when we ordered it they hadn't got any of the small cakes left so we had to have a large one!)NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Thanks scotmum!
Just been to c* op, it's more expensive, but to get to a cheaper shop is a 15 minute drive so not worth the savings unless we need a bigger shop.
Also gave hubby £10 for any food bits he needs when he goes back to work, (told him his hair cut is to come out of that too)
So that's a total spend of £23.06
(I took £70 out in cash, have £53.50 in my grocery pot though as had some left over from December. I'm going to make this £70 last 2 weeks instead of 1, and if I have anything left after the 2 weeks it will go into my sealed pot.

I'd like to join in with this challenge - I realised yesterday that we spent more than £450 in December for 2 people (and one cat), which is ridiculous. I think the problem was that I didn't keep track as I went, and I would go and pick up something ever day after work.
My budget for January is £200. We're running 2 freezers at the moment due to a new kitchen, so I should have plenty of meat to use up and can keep track of what I'm spending.
I'm also aiming for 18 no spend days this month - and I didn't buy anything today, which is a good start.
