I'm in!
This month is definitely a 'let's see what we're actually spending' month but aiming for £150 for 2 adults and 2 childrenGrocery Challenge - January 2015 - £0/£150
NSD January - 0/200 -
Hoped to have a NSD today as we met up with friends but stopped at Asda on the way...
Only £7 spent on food and toiletries (OH needed shave gel) but spent £19.50 on Duvet covers for us and the girls, they were in the sale but not strictly necessary. Ah well that is not part of my grocery spend but is one of the reasons I need to stop just "popping" into shops for bargains. :mad:Grocery Challenge 2017: Jan £85/£300

Hi all, popped out to check out the YS bargains in my local small stores before tea tonight, spent £5.28 in the Co-op but had a voucher as I'm a member so saved a £1 by spending over £5, and got another one to spend next week.
Popped to the tesco express and picked up 2 packs of shiitake mushrooms reduced to 42p each, had a gift card with a couple of pounds left on it so didn't cost me anything.
Then went over to Aldi to get some more reduced priced potatoes and a couple of other bits, spent £3.95.
So my total spend was £8.23.
My freezer is now completely stuffed full, so I can't buy anything else for a least a week.Grocery Challenge 2024

my jan GC challenge starts on the 5th-today was given a gift of 2 bags of organic green lentils from my friend- so that is a good start - I tried the barley risotto from the recipe section- it is very good and very filling- did not have sweet potatoes so just used the ordinary white- will be trying more lentil and bean recipes instead of buying faux meat substitutes-Viola cheese is a good vegan cheese as is Vegusto grated for Pizza or anything else x:beer:
Couldn't find the barley risotto in the Recipe list. Can you post a link please?
Happy New Year everyone.

I am in for January £200
£147.20 has already been spent on a Mr T monthly shop. £50 will be withdrawn from my account in cash and kept in a coin baggy in my purse to help keep it separate so it only gets spent on food top ups during the month.
Have done a meal plan for the month using everything that is left over in the freezers ready for a butcher order for FebThat voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Just done last shop of year £21.34 - bread and milk for the freezer, potatoes and few bits but haven't kept a note this month but needed to get back into the habit of keeping track.
I know its not grocery but got a great bargain at S******b***ys Cover for my tablet (bought in the sales) reduced from £14.50 to £ 9.99 but at till he said it's £19.99 so manager called and it had been priced wrong but he let me have it for £9.99 anyway and I used £7.50 nectar points so got it for £2.49 bargain!!!!!!!!!!
Happy New Year to u all

Grocery Challenge
Jan £141.42 /£100 Feb £0/£1000 -
Hi first time doing this challenge in my home we are 3 adults plus DS1 girl friend most days. I will start off trying for 300 per month and see how it goes. I normally easily spend 80-100 at the supermarket on weekly shops plus extra on bread milk etc and I always pick up bits and bods I hadn't planned and didn't need but am going to be firm this year.
I am going to make better use of the board to get ideas for meals and plan and make more use of online shopping as I find this helps me stick to my list better.
Happy 2015 to all0 -
Happy New Year folks. Had December off, but only spent £50 more than normal budget, so not too shabby considering school hols and Christmas.
£65 a week for me please to start the year off. I get paid weekly on a Sunday so going to stick to doing it this way instead of monthly. My aim is to get it down to £50 by the end of the year.
Have got lots of stocks in so need to start using them. Rota at work has been all over the place the last few months, so i am all off balance with planning meals and shopping. Need to try harder to be more organised. Going to do freezer check tomorrow and stock up Sun and Mon whilst near big Asd*s and L*dl, with small top ups locally from M*rrisons and the C*-*p.
Good luck for Jan everyone.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £89.90/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Happy New Year and happy January GC!
First day of GC for me, the house is stuffed full of food so I don't plan to shop for a couple of days at least. A friend of mine is leaving for India today, goes to overwinter there, and will give me all her leftover veg and other bits, so I should be ok for fresh food, too.
Yesterday I ordered some vitamin supplements online (with cash back etc) so I should be sorted on that front for at least a couple of months.
Bring it on!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning all! I'm quite excited to get started now it's the start of a new month and new year!!
Having read all of your posts I think I'm going to spend today doing an audit of everything we have in the cupboards and freezers and fingers crossed we'll just be buying staples over the next few weeks.
Next step is withdrawing my £240 and creating a 'supermarket purse'!
Right off to see what other challenges I can get involved in!
Happy New Year everyone and best of luck with your challenges!20p Savers (£22.20/£100)
