spends today £6.31 in co*p but I used £3.00 of scratch card winnings from Christmas stocking to make it to £3.31, got YS pulled pork for the freezer, a bottle of cherry coke, 2 YS black forest cakes one for us and one for the neighbour and a YS trifle for DH and the kids for tonights dessert.
then a mr T shop arrived, £37.58, got bits to finish off the weeks meals, milk, sour cream, mozzarella, sandwich meats, a couple of pizzas and oven chips for the freezer and turkey dinos on offer for the kids, passata, tinned toms, bananas, biscuits, cordial, pepsi, baby wipes, cream crackers, bread, sandwich thins and some tinned bits like beans, spaghetti and rice pudding. stocked up on garlic puree too as they don't have that in ald*
should only need bread, milk and lunch box bits from ald* on Sunday ready for DH and DS1 on Monday.
so total spend today is £40.89. will update sig now.January Grocery challenge - £165.31/£3500 -

oooh I cannot sem to stop going to the shops! I had a pre-NY YS shop today.
I spent £19.94!! So I am 1/3 through my budget and it isn't even Jan yet. Hoping going back to work will help...
I got
- 2 x vegan cheese
- 4 x 2 serving nut roast and cranberry sauce
- 6 x sandwich thins (have loads of almond butter/ tofu pate for sandwiches!)
- 8 lbs diced onions. I *hate* dicing onions and it stops me cooking. So I have them on caramelizing just now in, erm, every pan in the house and will portion them up for the freezer
- 10 lbs spuds which are baking in the oven and will also go to the freezer (I have a million baked beans to add to them...)
- bag salad
- 2 bags broccoli/ cauli for soup
- chocolate bar
So I think that will be most of the lunch fixings for the next month and I may get spud fatigue...
I did say £3 a day + 3 NSDs so I think that means no spends until Sunday 11th...!!2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Big shop today my arm nearly fell off! We managed to run out of baby wipes, baby bath and wash, nappy bags and soya milk so that plus one last lots of nibbles for tonight, lettuce for next few meals and some other random stuff needed. I managed to pick up a side of salmon reduced from £10 to £6.60 which I think is quite good as I will portion it up into 3 lots of 3 portions (£0.73 a portion) and freeze it. Also picked up two reduced cocktail sausages £1 for 18, really useful for the kids once in a while
I went to 3 different shops - madness but worth it
NSD (5) tomorrow of course - yay! Hoping for a few more over the next few days!
Happy New Year everyone!Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Thank you again to Zippy, Coxy and Solstice for running the thread.
Please could you put me down for £300 for January. I haven't given this figure much thought tbh but we have loads of food and DS and DD1 are only here 'til 10&11/1 so this will have to do.

Another Nsd today. My fourth in a row. This is definitely a record for me. Hoping for a world record for me tomorrow by bagging my fifth as I'm round my mum's for new years day dinner. So still at £150/£150. Desperately need to not go over this as it's a very lean month is January. Good look to everyone xxMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000

Dinner all prepared for tonight and didn't cost me a penny.:D I have decided to resurrect soup night on a Thursday which is my day off so I have plenty time to prepare it. This week though we are doing it today as it's DS1s birthday tomorrow and he wants pizza, wedges etc We always let them choose their birthday dinner even though they are not kids anymore( DS1 will be 27 tomorrow
).
Anyway back to the soup .. I throw in any veg lurking in the fridge with some lentils/broth mix and potatoes and I NEVER divulge whats in it:) I have made bread to go with the soup. Oh so very organised thanks to you lovely peeps (it might not last :rotfl:)
I will have to go shopping today for some basics but hoping not to spend too much.I am armed with my list so off I go. I will post total laterDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Can I join in? My budget for Jan is £175 for everything for 2 adults and a toddler. We're also planning a no spend on alcohol during Jan as well (we got loads as Christmas presents).
I'm aiming on doing a weekly online shop of about £30 then going to the market for fruit and veg. Unfortunately I can't get to the shops when the best woopsies are available as its the small person to put to bed so will be relying on meal planning and using up all the store cupboard food that has accumulated over the holidays.
Off to update my signature.MFW 2015 #61: £838/£7838
