Declaring £149.71 for January, so 29p under. However, I only achieved this by allocating 31 January (when I did first shops for February) to February. Is this cheating? I need to go away and think realistically about February.

Sorry not been around much lately declaring my January total as £298.69/£310.00 an underspend of £11.31 :j

I didn't really want to spend that much however having this budget set up this month has really made me think about every penny am spending. Looking forward to hopefully reducing next months spend

£14.89 spent in Aldi for me. Still well under budget but are practically going veggie or doing, hunt the meat in the meal. It's actually not bothering us and we're both looking the better for it.

    Bringing in a total of £88.72 / £150

Still a long way to go until 12th Feb and some stocks are right down - like tonight's rice! tut tut
  • Well I think its fair to say my first GC didnt go quite to plan! Worked hard all month to be really careful then Mr T sent a voucher through for £6 off a £40 spend so I thought I would use it up....£70 lighter & devastated that I had spent so much! It was a hard lesson learnt, cant believe how much more money we spent as we had only been spending £45 at Mr L!?!

So signing off Jan with a big fat spend of £282.23 when my target was £225...an overspend of £57.12

See you on the Feb challenge :)

Slightly off topic but I saw this exhibition live and was stunned what the weekly grocery shopping costs are worldwide and what families are buying!

We MSElers are all doing pretty well! My aim it to eat more like some of the families in the poorer countries, they seem to buy much healthier stuff!
