I'm still doing okay this month, but can't help but hate Januarys.
I don't get paid until the last working day, and it's been a long time since the christmas advanceThat sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
House Bought July 2020 - 19 years 0 months remaining on term
Next Step: Bathroom renovation booked for January 2021
Goal: Keep the bigger picture in mind...0 -
Hi all. I'm a little bit behind with the thread (always moves fast in January) as been a bit busy, not least with DD1 hurting her foot in swimming (how did she manage that!!!!) resulting in several hospital visits! Hopefully some sort of normality will resume now that she has some crutches to get around on!
I've had several grocery shops which I am slowly updating my signature with, as I empty my little 'grocery money bag' of my receipts. Must tell you about my little shop in Saturday evening though! We rarely get huge YS discounts by us. However, we called into our local Tesco Express to get DD1's Lactofree milk and a 4 pinter for us. Walked out with- a Hovis wholemeal loaf
- a pot of houmous (which I have frozen, thanks to an earlier post by a helpful member)
- 6 hot dog rolls
- a pack of mushrooms
- a prepared pack of carrots, broccoli & cauliflower
- 4 deli rolls
- Paracetemol
- Lactofree milk
- 4 pints of milk
Used the broccoli & cauliflower for Sunday dinner. Made the carrots into carrot & coriander soup for lunches (5 portions). Going to use the mushrooms for a risotto tomorrow & the rolls can be for DH & DDs lunches.

Yesterday I marathoned the freezer-defrosting - now I have a better idea what I don't have to buy and can make use of in some way.

Thats it, its payday to day so my final scores were:
G/C Jan 2015 £134.91/£300
Quite pleased with that, although I am still living off freezer/cupboard food rather than buying meat/fish. I'm off to Prague tomorrow so will start again when back on Sunday. Going to go for £200 budget for February
Will start recording my no-spnends too now as never done that :T

Wow plymouthscubagirl, that's less than half of your planned budget! Well done!
Went to Mr S yesterday and picked up a bunch of food that felt quite fancy - burgers, bread, cheesecake, fizzy drinks - as well as bin liners and washing up liquid. Spent £19.42. I found several more meals of leftovers in the freezers, so shouldn't need to get much more this week.
