A stupid spend of £2.20 today on lunch at work as I forgot my home made lunch and left it on the bench in the kitchen all day

That leaves me just £6 to last until Friday.
    £36/£240

Ooops. I spent £20 in Lidl today, even though I only went for coriander which they didn't have, so I went to Mr T after to get it. I spent £16 there, although we did need the fruit and veg, loo roll, toothpaste and chocolate... Normally I would have made do with what we had, but I was cooking for sis-in-law so I wanted to get extra in.

My bargain of the day was a waffle maker from Lidl - £5 :D I saw it sitting amongst other reduced stuff, and quickly grabbed it before someone else saw it! I've wanted one for ages but could never quite justify the cost. It made lovely waffles for dessert - I used Rachel Allen's recipe and they came out very well.

Ocado delivery came to £46.15  This leaves me with just £47.35 of my budget to last till the end of the month. I suspect that I will go over :(

Last weekends spends take me to 217/300. We did succomb to fish and chips one day last week, the only take away of the month though so not bad. Am hoping to stay below total spend of 280 as would like to put 20 aside for Xmas each month. This coming weekend is the last of the Jan challenge (I do my main shop on Sunday) and has been a five week month. I'm pretty pleased so far and feel doing the challenge has made me much more mindful of household spend.
  • NSD yesterday! :j

Very nearly a NSD today but I didn't realise there was only a tiny bit of milk left. Instead of going to Mr T's I just popped to local convenience store. A total of £3.49p spend on milk, crisps, chocolate buttons and a can of pop (don't ask! :rotfl: ) If i went to Tesco I would have spend a lot more because I can't help it. :rotfl:

Not sure if tomorrow will be a NSD. Quite possibly will be. Gonna take a loaf out of freezer. I'm so impressed with the amount of NSD i have been having!

£10 15 spent today, total of £90.30 - just got £9.70 to last until the end of the month - going to be tight.

I must start making some cakes and biscuits as DH looks forward to something sweet after lunch and I've just run out of biscuits. Had a look in the teapot and I think there's enough to soak some dried fruit overnight to make a fruit loaf tomorrow. Mary Berry recipe.

I need to start whipping up some hm treats at the weekend asI think it would reduce the pudding spends.

Anyway nsd today and meal plan still going really well. We had hm kfc today; coated drumsticks, fries, beans and coleslaw. It was really lovely.

  • Couldn't resist a couple of bargains at Mr T's tonight. Grabbed a pack of Meatballs and a Finest Cod and Crab pie for 56p. One will feed us all, the other will be a posh meal for me and OH.

Have my last ten pounds in my bag, will be breaking in to it in the morning but not spending it all.
