  • Just listed something on ebay - can you not set the amount you'll automatically accept/decline on best offers anymore? I'm expecting to get a load of emails from people chancing their arm and I'd rather not deal with them! :p

Also just happened upon the seller dashboard page - did you know your total sales are listed there? Apparently I've made nearly £7K selling on ebay  - it has taken over 10 years though!

Yeah, you're still able to set your "auto decline" and "auto accept" amounts on the listing. I did it on a listing I put on 3 days ago. I didn't know about the seller dashboard though. Just looked at mine and I was surprised by total sales amount too :)
  • Another payment today of £382 taking my total to:

    #119 £21,908/£42,908 (51.1%)

Thats exactly how I feel and I'm sure many others do too. I hate that my income now is going to a debt for something that has been and gone and I'm getting nothing from anymore . Can't wait for it to be cleared!

So I have somehow got myself in to -£150 figures in YNAB. A little extra spend on food (as per, grrr), unexpected present (long story but this spend is one thing I will not regret), and god knows what else. I think once I see a - figure in my YNAB budget and no money to move to cover it I seem to fall into the 'already blown it' and do more damage. Means that when I'm paid at the end of the month its £150 less to the debt.... just need to make sure it doesn't end up anymore than £150 now.... :(

Remember the YNAB rules! Roll with the punches. Shuffle the figures, and carry on without getting overly stressed about it.

    Thank you Pablosammy :)

Has anyone got any tips they can give me to get this debt down ??

    Thank you :)

The main thing is making a budget and sticking to it. On the main DFW board, people are very helpful and non-judgmental if you ask for help there - have you filled in a full Statement of Affairs? There is a link on the main board, let me know if you need me to dig it out. People often post theirs up, and others chip in with suggestions. It often helps identify areas where you can scrimp or cut back, and makes you feel more organised too! Let me know if you need any more help.
  • Just checking in, I'm number #038 :).

I made a payment of £235 today, after what feels like forever. It was a big one for me. I saved all my Christmas money and what not for this. The feeling of seeing the numbers go down is amazing!

So now I'm at £296/£1378 and I'm raring to shift the pounds, if only my purse was. :rotfl:

    Keep going strong everyone.

Well done :) That's £1,082 left, so just focusing on how to pay off the next tenner might help, lots of little 1%s to wave bye bye to :D

I think this is the absolute hardest part of the year - you've worked out how much you owe in total and had the  holy hell how did it get to be that much moment - but as it's just after Christmas, generally speaking there is less available money than at any other time of the year! It's already been 3 and a half weeks since payday for me and there's another 15 days to go :( Just get through January as best you can then you've got the nice easy short month of February to survive then you get into a routine and things start to become easier.

Of course it sucks to be using so much money now to be paying things off but just think how you'll feel this time next year - even if you're not fully paid off you'll be so much closer! It's only 3 weeks since this challenge started and you've made an amazing start - focus on what you've done so far instead of what is still to come :A

Thank you for such an encouraging post. I have no idea how people who only get paid once a month cope with paying off debt. One thing for certain. If ever our business gets to the stage we can afford to employ people, pay will be weekly or fortnightly.

    Yup, you're right, of course.

Sadly the only column I can shuffle with is the pot for paying off the debt. So I'm ADDING to my debt amount rather than reducing right now... still, at least I'm absolutely hating doing it  and it might finally make me accept that this is a common occurrence and to stop doing it.

I've pretty much added £175 to it.
