Hi, please please please can I join? I've had a month of one lightbulb moment after another, instigating little changes and have decided I really REALLY need to do this properly. Once and for all.
I'm currently working out my total debt and then will work through the thread, set up spreadsheets and start tackling this thing.
One question - I have an agreement from YEARS ago whereby I am paying off credit card debt through Moorcroft - this is set fixed at £50 a month. Because this isn't incurring any interest (I finish August 2019!) do I include this figure? It's an additional £2800 that in my head isn't really a debt because it's not growing any bigger - does that make sense? Would paying it off improve my credit rating? Such a noob
.
Anyway looking forward to getting a number and posting my first update - I'm going to include payment from 1st January as I have already started addressing this and need a bit of encouragement.
Put me down for £3512.14 - overdraft, credit card and Next account. I think this will be more than enough for one year, especially as I have lived in my overdraft for over 10 years!!!!!
Personally, I'd still count it as a debt, as technically it still is. However, despite the thread's title you can set yourself any target you like for the year, so it's up to you if you include it in the challenge. Your number is 131, welcome! :Tarc_cutter wrote: »Hey it's payday today. Monthly budgeting here I come.
You jammy so and so! Payday is still 5 days away here, it's been such a long month.cutiepieabf wrote: »Hello, is it too late to join? I would like to be debt free for Xmas 2015!
I would like to clear £800 overdraft and £8,000 credit card?! so my total is £8800.
Thank you!
Of course! Number 132 for you :T0 -

I spent on my credit card last week thinking I wouldn't last another 9 days until payday but today I just paid it all off again. So I have a new total and payment made. Back to £250 debt for 2015. Come on payday hurry up.

Hi all im new to this..... although ive been lurking for some time... ahem years lol
When people calculate the amount of debt they wish to pay off this year do they include the interest for that year ie a loan? might be being silly but in my defence im full of the flu
