Well done to everyone so far!
Those that use YNAB will understand my pain here...
Our laptop that I configured it all from has died! No back-up! So having to start afresh (hey, could be a lot worse, we could not have another laptop to use and have to fork out for that!).
It means that I've tried to remember where all the money should be etc and hopefully that will be OK... but I seem to have a bit more money than I did on the previous version so I'm thinking something is likely to pop up that I've forgotten about! But in the meantime I'll put some to debt busting! (#44) Another £39.40 (just to help with your OCD Pablosammy and round it to an even number!)
YNAB aside...
Had been planning to build up a new sofa money pot over this year and talk OH into agreeing ours needs replaced next year. Got some post the other day that included a leaflet for DFS and suddenly we found ourselves yesterday at the sofa shops looking for a new sofa and chair! We didn't buy anything but have been talking about replacing ours sooner rather than later. Light-bulb moment FAIL? Maybe we can justify it if we save for it first alongside our debt repayments...
Anyone else seem to be going all out to debt bust then suddenly just flop?! Its typical of us.- [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]
- Bank Loan: £12,000 / £14,000

I thought YNAB makes you use Dropbox, so all your data will be saved remotely? Or if not, can you get someone to restore your hard drive? Whatever happens, make sure you use the Cloud Sync feature next time
With regards to the sofa, getting it NOW seems like a good idea, but imagine the monthly payments coming out every month for the next year or two, and the regret each time you see it. I've been there so many times... do a bit of debt clearance, feel good about my finances, end up getting more debt, feel bad again... It's a vicious circle. So, to paraphrase my mum... "Just be careful!" :rotfl:0 -

I can't recall what happened with DropBox, I think I had it and it was just being irritating and popping up constantly no matter what I was on etc so I somehow managed to configure it so that it didn't back-up!
I know exactly what you're saying and its sort of why I'm holding back a bit. I can't imagine how wonderful it will feel to go in and pay and thats it done with! Our credit card debt is from our honeymoon and although I had the most amazing time, I hate that we are still paying it off nearly 2 years later. I promised myself that I'd clear the debt and buy everything with pots of saved money so I must resist temptation!- [STRIKE]Credit Card: £2,989 / £2,989[/STRIKE]

hi all! Please can I join you? I have done various challenges on various different boards on here, and I do find then amazingly helpful! I think I have about £13,000 :mad::eek:
So I in the next few days I will be sorting out our finances when hubby and I get the chance to sit down properly together and work out exactly where we are at. I am very lucky that hubby is supportive of my challenges and we work well as a team. So fingers crossed we can be very successful!
Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a successful year!:beer:mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0
