We have a chronic mould problem in our spare room unfortunately a dehumidifier didn't help we think something is wrong with the brickwork but as its not our property we can't do s lot, we found keeping the window slightly open all the time has helped.

Pablosammy did i imagine that you had the same birthday as me? If not, happy birthday!!

Me again! Just got a payment through for some items I sold a while ago, £12 more off. This thread is really motivating me and having that target figure firmly fixed in my head makes me see that the end really is almost in sight.

How about trying something like this before buying a dehumidifier...

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Unibond-450g-Humidity-Absorber-Device/dp/B0052CUX76#customerReviews

Only comes with one tab, but refills are only a fiver and last three months or so. It'll definitely be a lot cheaper than a dehumidifier anyway, and might just do the job.

Thanks for the link, we have also tried them. The room is so tiny and has to have a bed and chest of drawers right up against the wall, which means the air can't really circulate. I managed to find one for £99 with good reviews, so fingers crossed it works.

  • 108 from 2014 here!

I actually hit my target for 2014 but got out of the way of updating. Also got into a habit of using the cc quite a lot, but clearing it every month.

I want to get out of that habit this year and use it way less. We have some big house projects we'd like to achieve this year so ideally I'd like to limit cc use to things related to that. I also would like to try and clear the car payments this year too.

So I'm going for a target of £9139.48 in 2015.
  • Can i sign up please? Im only 23 but would like to clear 3k by august 2015. I would also like to start saving too

No idea why I'm just talking about this when everyone has their own worries. I'm 36 years old and still have no idea about mortgages, solicitors etc etc. Pretty sad really.
    Hi Mat,
Depending on how long you've been repaying the debt surely that's not a surprise or bad thing but a sensible thing to do. I agree re mortgage brokers, and found John Ch@rcol v helpful. I'd start with Martin's first time buyers guide on here first, bet it's ace! So, if you are renting I bet Martin would say step 1 is a budget? :)
Not sure if it's a safe and friendly space but there's a whole house buying board on here too. Good luck!
