  • Hi there
Can I please join this thread, I have not been on the thread for nearly a year but really need to try to clear all of my debt. I'm not sure how much it is but think it will be around £9,000.00, I will calculate it and confirm later if that is ok?

I won't be able to clear it all unless I win some money which is very unlikely :-) but if I can clear as much as possible will be great. I will update my signature soon too.

Thank you so much for running the thread

    :T:T
I have just calculated my credit card debt and it is £8321.23 :eek:mostly on interest free till 1.12.15. I can't see me clearing it by then but I can do a balance transfer and hopefully join the 2016 thread.
    Thank you again
  • Just found out I had £657 that was owed to me paid into my account today.
Stuck it on the credit card before I spend it :)

  • Blimey! Page 11 already? I missed the notification, obviously. Anyway, can I join please? Will be on minimum payments until the Summer as we have a BIG trip planned so are saving like mad and will be using a credit card for some of it, but then we'll be chucking everything at the debt. Can you put me down for £10K, which I'm not sure we'll make, but it gives me something to aim for!

    #20, £30.00/£6000 (ish).

Every month I leave £30 in my bank account as a buffer for little unexpected things rather than using my overdraft, it didn't get used in December so I have paid it off the debt.

I will put a proper debt total up in January and get started properly.

So my fianc!e and I have been talking about houses, mortgages and shared ownership property. I have no idea where to start but seeing as I'm debt free next month (touch wood) then going to start saving and applying in estate agents. There's just so much to think about it's mad. Don't know where to start.

No idea why I'm just talking about this when everyone has their own worries. I'm 36 years old and still have no idea about mortgages, solicitors etc etc. Pretty sad really.

It's always worth talking to a broker - not one in an estate agent! - as they will be able to guide you through it and make sure you get a good deal :)
