Feeling annoyed today. Its three weeks til payday and we are going to have to be really frugal because my Oh has spent so much flipping money! I don't want to 'tell him off' cos its his money but it has annoyed me.
  • Mystery solved. Rang Natwest and they said due to a system fault my loan DD payment hadn't been taken this month. I made a payment over the phone so the excitement of having an extra £200 sat in the bank has now gone, but must keep up the payments I suppose!

Less than 3 months till debt freedom now :j

    #9 £3990/4683 (85%)

    Keep going gang!
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

  • Morning all!

No August total yet, as my PC is in a box at home. The move, despite being the most soul destroying thing I've ever done (I tried to do it all myself with a Transit van to save money!), is nearly finished. Just need to unpack now.

Despite the removal costs, as well as having to pay a deposit on the new rental place, the bank balance is still in the black, and I'm hoping to pay a decent chunk off at the end of the month. I've not got a lot left on my bank loan, and I cannot wait to be able to phone up and make the final payment.

After that, the Student Loan is a secondary consideration... the interest rate is currently 0.90%. I won't consider myself debt free until it's gone though.

Sorry for rambling, it's just nice to be able to put thoughts down in writing occasionally!

Well done everyone for your payments so far, I'll run an update as soon as I'm able. Just under one third of the year to go, keep up the hard work!
  • Another camera lens sold. So another payment of £255 off my debt brings me to;

    #75 £7880.89/£18624.98

Only £500 left on one of my cards now, will be trying to get rid of that this month and snowball the payments to the one where the 0% ends next (I've got until May to pay £2297 off that one) Fast approaching debt going into 4 figures. Somewhere it hasn't been in the last decade.

Good work on moving yourself Pablosammy, hard work, but better than wasting money paying someone else to do it for you! :money:

Oooh what camera gear are you selling? My main regret in my debt clearance drive so far was selling my only camera. Thinking of picking up a second hand SLR and a lens or two to tide me by.

Well done all! I picked up some new coats for winter yesterday, so that's me sorted coats wise for a few years lol.

Feels like forever until payday, and plus next month it moves back three days which sucks :( I'm going to plan the Christmas shopping list for October payday because I won't have another payday before Xmas, so my November payday needs to stretch a bit!
  • My update: £3433/£4423 (#83)

    Below £1000 now - only £990 to go! :)

Sold a Canon 100-400mm, Fuji 14mm and Fuji 35mm so far. I think I'm keeping my Fuji and 1 lens, and my SLR a Canon 5d3, 24-70 2.8 II, and 70-200 2.8 IS. Will keep the SLR, esp as baby on the way. The fuji has depreciated so much it's not worth selling, but the lenses held their value (a bit) I had resisted selling any of my camera gear, as in the past I'd always gone out and bought new stuff to replace it. But with YNAB telling me what I can afford I think I'm safe now. It also helps that I can see the difference selling stuff makes. I used to fritter away the money from selling stuff, but now it goes straight off the debt.

Evening everyone #066 checking in :hello:. I haven't been on here in a long time, but I am still chugging along.

The good news is I actually cleared my debt last month :T However the bad news is I went and got a loan for my dream holiday to Florida next year so I'm now back to £3000 in the red :(

It WILL be worth it though. I've already started paying the loan off this week with £150 off already. If it's possible could my target be changed.

I'm currently debating whether to use the savings I have gathered so far for my holiday next year and pay off some off the debt. Will sit and work that conundrum out later
