    Happy September guys.

Wish I could say things are going well but it doesn't feel like it! Giving myself w big kick up the bum I think and getting back on track as of now. Going shopping in a bit, will make a list and stick to it... I also need a new coat so I will be trawling the second band shops to see if I can find anything suitable.
  • Hello everyone!

Hope you're all doing ok. Well done to those that have made it to Debt Freedom already

I have paid my September bills so have updated my signature.

Thanks Pablo for running this thread and keeping me on the straight and narrow.

I received an annual statement this month from my bank telling me that I've paid £400-something in interest this year and I'm kicking myself. If I'd done something about my debt sooner I could have saved myself so much money. But live and learn. I've transferred as much as I can from that card onto a 0% card, so next month will be my last payment to the horrible interest card. :j Then to carry on paying off the 0% card, without interest getting in the way of progress.

Well done abba! You are so close to your overall target :j

I sympathise with you timefortea as I've just worked out that with all the interest, some unexpected spends and car expenses, we actually owe more this month than last :( Waiting for money to transfer and the first of this month's payments to go out and I'll pay extra when I can. Feeling a bit deflated now, as I had hoped we were on top of things.
  • First day of the month - bye bye money! Another loan repayment, updated total in signature. 10 months left to go :j

On the downside the car is back in the garage for the fourth time in a month. As I've only had it since april im Refusing to take it back. If they agree to refund me, we could manage with 1 car, so I would very suddenly be almost debt free! Is it wrong that I don't want the car anymore just so that happens?! :rotfl:
    Baby due 21/06/2017 :)

How disheartening. :( At least overall you are making progress, and this is just a blip. It's funny how now I'm so disappointed with myself when I don't make the progress that I wanted to, when just a few months ago I was wasting money, getting further in debt, and in total denial about it. Now every little bump on the journey is disappointing, but as unpleasant as that feeling is, it's also what's stopping me now from just not caring and going back to my old spendy ways. It's not nice to feel bad, but that consciousness is what's keeping me on the straight and narrow!

    Thank you x

I know we're still heading in the right direction, but I definitely won't be debt free by Christmas this year and we have some major spends coming in 2016 :( Nagged DH about his spending last night and he agreed to a month of no buying without prior approval (lol) sooooo, back on the wagon....
