These last couple of months have been challenging financially but I'm hoping we are coming out the other end now. Our new flatmate moves in tomorrow and we've bought pretty much everything for the flat that our old flatmates owned.

We've also found a new tenant for our flat in Aberdeen! so no more unbudgeted mortgage payments to add to my spreadsheet.

Hopefully I'll get back to regular large weekly payments soon but for this week it's £65 to CC

Well done elleJay - 60% is fantastic :T It looks like the housing market is finally starting to pick up - hope you love your new home x

I've dropped the ball on this challenge a bit. Not in terms of not paying stuff off, just that I haven't been a regular on the thread.

I wonder if pablosammy might allow me to update my total and target?

I've dug back through my diary and worked out that at the beginning of December, I owed £6700 in total.

That didn't reflect the amount I started the challenge with as I didn't feel I'd be able to pay it off.

However, things happened and I was able to pay off quite a large chunk of debt. Therefore, it's only right that I should have updated my target to reflect my FULL debt and try to pay that off entirely in 2015.

So I've worked out that by January, I had a debt of £6700. I wonder if pablosammy would allow me to update my challenge target to that?

Since then, I've paid off £3538.85.

So would you update my amount to be £3538.85 of £6700? (#32)

This also takes me over 50% of my total debt paid off since September 2014.

Ahh and did I mention the rent has gone up £10 pm too... Not much in the grandscheme of things but it is an extra £120 per year to pay out. Urgh. The quicker we can leave the better... It,ll about the same for a mortgage but at least we know it's a fixed price and there's no bloomin house inspections.

Best get frugal, we are quite a way off our target yet...

Finally off the starting blocks. House has still not sold despite two drops in price and recovery from operation continues to be very slow - taken nine months to be able to do stairs and still revert to one foot then the other when I am tired). DS3 was unable to pay anything for his keep for several months and I came very near to crashing. However managed to transfer most of the debt to 0% and money improved so made some progress. need to make some money from next month otherwise will start to slip into the red again.

I've finally bitten the bullet and got a 0% money transfer card. I'm going to transfer my overdraft and the last of the credit card on to it saving me £60 interest every month... I know, I know, I should have done this in January and not waited until August, I was just scared about applying for more credit.

As soon as the transfers go through I'm removing my overdraft facility completely and closing my old CC.

No more money to pay to debts until Friday but hopefully this is really going to help me reach debt free by Xmas!
