Sat down and paid off another £700 onto the cards just now. I put a bit on them this past month - not out of necessity, but because I got sent a new debit card, lost it somewhere, and needed to get another one. So, had to put some things on the CC. As I am in the middle of beers, I can't be bothered to work out a new total as of this moment, and am probably not capable of doing so :-) Will get one up in the coming days. I'm guessing that my recent payment should put me to within about £2500 of the finish line. Next months paycheck should allow me to clear at least half of that, and I am going to volunteer for all the overtime I can get into August and September to get the rest of it sorted.

Off on holiday next weekend, but shouldn't be an expensive one. Still on target to have this done and dusted by end of September :-)

    Morning all

I forgot to update the beginning of the months payments. I had to go back through posts to check. My new figures are

    £3789.21.71/5084 74.53%

I may have a few more payments but its holiday month and I have some repairs to do on the house, frugal style of course so this is probably it until July.

A genuinely exciting morning of banking here (that's how rock n roll I am these days).

    It's payday! :j I'm feeling good as I have:

    - Just rang Barclays and removed the overdraft facility from my account with them (I was dipping into it every month for non-needs!)

Now I have no overdraft facility on any of my bank accounts :)

    - Just paid the final payment on my last remaining credit card!

I had 5 credit cards at the beginning of 2014 and now I have 2 still open but no money owed on either of them :j

    - Just upgraded my Lloyds account to Club Lloyds, so I'll get a little bit of interest on my balance each month now and a saving account with 4% interest for a year - good incentive to save!

So a successful start to the day. Current debt situation:

    #9 £3024/£4683 (64%)

More payments going out on the 1st. Its just 2 creditors now: one bank loan and a tax credits overpayment. Still on course to have it all paid off my November-December time.

£100 non-needs budget for July, I'll have to stick to it now as I've got no overdraft! Keep going everyone :)
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

    It's all looking good Aphidgirl.:T

I paid off my overdraft years ago and got rid of it. I have just updated my account and refused the overdraft telling the bank guy if he tried to put one on I would close my account. He did look at me funny.
