Not quite :o Once the loan is gone then the overdrafts are next, plus we need to save for some building work too.

Paid off some from both cards in the last month, hurray!

    #171 £471.87/£5000 9.44%!

If I only pay off £400 a month, though, I won't hit £5000 by Christmas, so I need to find some ways I can pay off more. Going to be looking out for those opportunities at the end of each month!

    Another £10 for me tonight.

    Current total #36 £3392.71 66.73%

I have worked out I need to pay off at least £8.11 per day to be free by December 31st. I will pop on to update weekly rather than daily as it may get confusing.

I like your idea of working it out per day! If I did it that way, I'd have to pay £24 every day. I wonder if I can motivate myself by thinking about saving that much each day e.g. if I don't go to the shop at all that day, no coffee, spend more wisely at the supermarket, don't buy that top...

Thank you for your positive thoughts - they are rubbing off on me!

I haven't reported for a while, but I have been reading. I'm so impressed by all your dedication and progress.

I have just been bumbling along making minimum payments - it feels like the closer I get to paying off the last card, the less motivated I am to actually do it. Its on 0% so in my head it doesn't really matter.

I have been saving too, but I like things to be in seperate pots so I don't want to use my savings to pay my debt. Sounds a bit silly but I want to stick to budget and pay it off by spending less. Using my early retirement pot seems like the easy option

We have to do it our own way Ruthy or it won't work.

You're over half way and were half way through the year. Youre doing fab. Well done.

Urg! Still twenty days until payday. How? Why?:rotfl: I feel like I just live for every pay day in order to save and also pay down the car :( I should be living really. But you can't really do both.

I know the feeling, it is almost an obsession, there is always something to save for even when you have your house! I feel like it is never going to end! :(

This month is going very slowly. I thought a couple of days ago that we were about half way through. How wrong and how sad was I. Mind you I don't want it to pass too quickly as I have loads of work to get completed before the end of term.

Anyway I know I said I wouldn't update again with a small amount but I have managed to pay an extra £100 today so thought I would.

This will be the last large payment this month. Hopefully I will be able to make some of the smaller daily payments still which hopefully may knock off another £50 or so fingers crossed. Next month will definitely be back to the usual smaller payments.
