Car passed with no advisories! I did have a full service at the same too so total cost was £263- less than I had budgeted. So that cash goes into the emergency funds pot.

I have chosen to extend my car finance payments beyond sept but I may ask t increase the amount I pay per month so that is cleared quicker... I am just kind of focusing on saving cash for the house deposit, I know that is bad, bur I figure it will be done soon anyway.

The thing I love about this challenge is that it's taught me to use my money more wisely.... we have paid off nearly all of our debt now :)

This thread is great isn't it? Well done for being nearly debt free too! :T

I have some good news too. DH and I had a chat and decided to use our savings to pay a big chunk off the loan. It's the best thing for us and puts us almost debt free. so today I paid a massive £1,737.98 off the loan :j

From what I've seen, Noddle ratings don't seem to like any change to your account status at all! Mine hasn't budged off 3 (except for one month where it went to 4) for ages. That's despite me closing various credit accounts and my credit utilisation percentage going down.

I'd take anything it says with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't go as far as saying the score is meaningless as some people do - it can be an indicator of an adverse change on your credit report that you weren't aware of - but the 'score' certainly isn't seen by lenders. They have their own acceptance criteria.

Reading around it seems that you need to keep using your credit cards, or you lose your history, and therefore your rating. The one thing this debt has built up for me over the years is a good credit rating, so don't want to let it go. I will get debt free and then use the cards for shopping every now and again, which should keep my rating up.

Long term I am going to start saving for a deposit on a house once these debts are paid down, so don't want my chances of getting a mortgage quashed through losing my credit history.

#101 £235.00 just paid on 3 cards bringing total to £1319/£2000. Had a little pay rise and have finished paying my lease hire car so hoping to start throwing a bit more money at my debt :T

Managed to squeeze in a small payment of £55.41. A nice new balance of £900 left yippee. My calculations don't seem to add up? But never mind £900 to go :-)

So tallied up all the credit card spends over the last week after buying a washing machine, fridge/freezer, curtains, poles, paint, tools oh and a trip to IKEA to buy loads of junk we don't need hahaha.

£1195.68 spent. Paid off £350 already. Next month will get our deposit back from rental flat so will pay rest off then.
