I have paid a total of £275 today to three credit cards. Luckily they are all 0% so at least I am always making progress. Unfortunately my monthly budgets are so tight that I cannnot make much in the way of overpayments so it's going to be ages before I see any benefit from snowballing😠

First week in the new job done, i HATE it, its been a traumatic week with plenty of tears and doubt. :undecided :undecided
The only thing that has kept me sane is knowing pay day is just over a week away and the new job is a significant pay rise. I am now even more determined to get the debt off - even faster than i had planned because i hate this job so much. (I am hoping it improves) The quicker i get the debt paid off the quicker i can hand my notice in and go back to my old job (yes less money, but an amazing team and money isnt everything )Lottie_Clark wrote: »Kittycat - it's scary and can seem disheartening but you're so right when you say 'that's what savings are for.' You are right, in the past i would have just reached for the plastic and though "ah well, i will pay it later" - hence being in debt now.
It does feel good to be able to dip into savings to pay for things we need or emergencies. Finally dealing with debt: 01.01.2015 -£10,562.:(

Kittycat, I'm totally in the same boat as you. Took a job two months ago with a pay rise and I absolutely loathe it. I'm trying to give it a chance but I don't think I'm management material, am too much of a people pleaser. I'm dropping back down as soon as my loan is paid off (maybe even before that for my own sanity!).
I hope things get better for you, and remember we work to live, not live to work Good luck with the debt busting. Baby due 21/06/2017 Good luck with the debt busting. Baby due 21/06/2017 0 0

Always do the interview anyway amr - the feedback and experience is worth it and if they offer it to you you don't HAVE to accept.
Sometimes interviews are also the arena where you find out if YOU want the job - it's not always about you proving yourself to prospective employers but them proving themselves to you! I went for an interview a couple of weeks ago and during the interview started to feel uneasy that they'd want me to drop a lot of things to put their role forefront (which was totally not worth it for 2 days a week at a measley wage and 9 month contract). I was unsuccessful but felt hugely relieved - and their appointment has now had to work 3 weekends in a row to 'orientate' himself - pah! Dodged a bullet there!
Smash the interview and report back tomorrow - you bloomin' gem you! :T

            Go for it amr!
For me the job is difficult, but the fact that I've moved to a new area with completely new people is probably the biggest difficulty, plus I'm juggling it with a post grad degree til July. Originally I was supposed to be in my old base, with familiar people. I think I still would've found it hard but not as hard as being deployed into a desperate team!
You can do it, not all promotions are bad news, in fact the majority are good. A friend of mine took a promotion at the same time and loves her job. Don't let our isolated experiences put u off and good luck :jBaby due 21/06/2017 0 0

I would always say do the interview Amr I am with Lottie on that x Interviews give you great experience, if its not the right job for you, like lottie said you dont have to accept.
I did two interviews in 4 days and got both jobs, i turned down one and accepted the one i am in now (which is a secondment for a year, so im only really a months notice away from returning back to my original post)
I work in the public sector, sick of the pay and increased workload. We have been fighting for pay equality in our sector for almost 18 months and have got nowhere. I ended up feeling quite resentful and found myself having the attitude of "well that isnt in my job description or pay scale so i aint doing it" difficulty is, when you work with vulnerable children and their families you cant really have that attitude #conflicted
i saw a job come up in a different department but very very similar job only a 10k a year pay difference, so naturally went for it, got the job and was excited but sad to be leaving the amazing team i worked with. (it was the salary difference between us that tipped me over the edge- i would still be doing the job i love with people ive worked with for many years if they'd sort it out!)
Pidge_Jen - Snap x Now i am in a complete new geographical area, i know no one- hardly no-one spoke to me in the first week- first morning i was on my own with the caretaker for 40+ mins- no one was expecting me. Its been a long long 37 hours doing absolutely nothing. The silence in the office is deafening and the bloody clock ticking was driving me insane. I couldn't even get in and out the office without having someone get up and let me out (through a fobbed keypad security door)
I have never felt so isolated, incompetent and useless in my entire life.
I cried uncontrollably on tuesday lunchtime- called my hubby in floods of tears, couldn't get the words out for crying.
I am dreading going back tomorrow. My diary is completely empty for tomorrow #longday and same for Tuesday morning, all day wednesday too
Lets hope we have a better week next week Pidge_Jen.

Oh my goodness Kittycat - blimey charlie! Sending hugs-a-plenty your way! Reckon that 10k pay difference you use 8k for your debt (cheeky look at your sig) and the other 2k on an all-the-works holiday!
Then hopefully back to your previous job and lovely team (maybe even a new govt who'll honour the pay-rises you all deserve, won't hold my breath for that one sadly though ) )
In slightly debt-related news (better keep a small part of today's posts topical!) just had two bids on a pair of shoes on eBay - £3.77 to throw at the debt here we come! (and scrimping by on £5 until next Weds which'll mean I can put my £145 into the debt pile too!)
