    Hi

Any chance I can join this thread as Christmas is my goal? I have £18754 which I want to pay off by Christmas 2015. This consists of:

Post Grad loan - £10,000 - if paid by end of April 2015 there will be no interest charged
Next Terms Fees £1,888 - this will be the end of anything owed to university
Halifax Credit Card £1,866 - 0% is due to end middle of June 2015
Parents £5000 - Didn't have this much off them but with interest and exchange rate at the time it is the amount that I should pay back. It is owed since my marriage ended nearly 16 years ago but this year is the year to pay them back and show I appreciate them getting me out of a hole all those years ago.

    Thanks for listening,

  • Well people today is officially a GOOD DAY! :D

Payday has come around so £210.08 has gone to my PCDL
£100 to the Lloyds CC and £100 to the Halifax CC

Aaaaannnnnndddd I'VE CLEARED MY FIRST DEBT IN FULL!!! Got the £145 from my savings account and combined it with my wages to pay off the Car Insurance debt!!

I was proper scared as I've got a Hen Do to attend this month and may need to get a new car (which will also mean changing my insurance as I paid for the year so it may go up) but I thought - screw it! It'll feel really good and may spur my fellow forumites on! If I'm tight later on in the month I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it.

I've sold another 2 items on eBay so only £2.50 and 99p respectively but every little helps.

And, FINALLY, completed some freelance transcription work and submitted it today. I thought the hourly rate was £12 but it was £21 so I've made nearly twice as much as I'd anticipated (if it's approved) so that should come in during April as well! :rotfl:

I briefly saw the swanky new forum layout too but it appears to have gone again - very pha-nar, pha-nar!

Hope you're Wednesday works out just as well lovely people - I'm wanting to hug you all in a big way for keeping me going and getting me to this point *totes emosh* What would I do without you!

    Right, PabloSammy *drumroll please*

Hubby has been paid so paid £75 off my halifax credit card to bring it under £1200 and will remain so even when interest gets added on next month hoping to have this under the £1000 mark by end of May but this month payments won't be as generous as I need to get three kids passports sorted this month :(

    Well done Lottie - that's FABULOUS :T

I'm struggling this month after rashly throwing all my savings at my debt after a few days of feeling down about what was owed - then my car died. £180 later it is back on the road and the best part? I paid cash for the repairs!!! I took the garage boys a tray of doughnuts for sorting everything out so quickly and they topped up my oil for free, so not all bad ;)

Got a couple of expensive weekends coming as we are house hunting in an area 300 miles from where we currently live. Already paid for this week's accommodation (by debit card) so no additional CC debt but petrol will be needed....sigh.... Once we sell, I'll hopefully be able to clear all debts, once and for all. Here's hoping...

Updating this post with an extra payment of £257.29, so my new totals are as follows:

    #85 £6094.70/£25,000 = 24.37%

    Nearly at 25% paid - yippee :j

Well done amr on the job hunt
Well done Lottie on clearing some debts
Good luck Dizzy with the house hunting

I've had a big windfall salary this month, thankfully, after the bad luck I had with the flat the other week. Got myself a mid 4 figure sum for bonus/salary so it means I can clear off the existing CC debt (only purchases from this month) can recoop the lost fees from said flat huint issue and can put all my savings back right and still spend some money on myself as a treat.
