Guys this is all FAB news! What a great splurge of posts to read to get me outta the hum-drums! :D

    [

KittyCat and amr - super, super appreciate the support and shooting it right back (why is there no hug smilie I mean c'mon?!)

LET'S DO THIS *grits teeth* GRRRR!! :rotfl:

    Welcome :) Anytime.

Oh i agree we do need a hug smiley, the one on here looks just wrong he he he :rotfl:

I find this thread the most supportive on MSE. I also find the DFW boards a lot more friendly. . I've read some posts in some of the other threads (mortages, savings etc) and well, the holier than thou and sarcastic attitudes from some people is shocking

Im sticking here with the friendly lot, the people who are who they are, have made mistakes with money and will admit to them and do not cast judgement on others.

Fingers crossed it'll all work out - this is an accumulation of many, many years of debt and I've never paid hardly anything towards it so this is a massive undertaking for me! No-one to blame but myself unfortunately :( I'm excited to finally be working on getting out of debt though and seeing a tiny light at the end of the tunnel!

You are doing so well dida80 :T
I've been paying minimums for years thinking i was on top of things just because I could easily pay the minimum amounts off...so wrong!
Someone said on here that the teeny tiny light at the end of the tunnel will get bigger and . How true.
I've paid a bit off so will update the old signature later but will do some Ebaying first.

I really really hate Ebaying. Anyone else find it utterly tedious for little return  i must admit I like big easy wins!

This was exactly my thinking! I am easily paying the minimum and living a decent life with the rest of my wages. Its easy this life lark.

Its only when I got with my girlfriend and started thinking long term I realised I may be in so much more more trouble than I thought. Despite having a better paying job than her, I was always the skint one. Once I looked into it a little and realised why, I put a spreadsheet together to figure it all out and now Im cracking on with it so we can look at getting a house together one day in the not overly distant future! Being extra skint for a few months seems worth it knowing the reward at the end of it all, even if that is MUCH bigger debt in the shape of a mortgage...
