I haven't checked in for a couple of weeks and had a spare £25 knocking about so paid it off my credit card and then redid my balance

When I started I got my Next balance wrong and didn't readjust my total debt so have just taken the hit now. I've paid off more than it looks. And ruddy interest charges are so sucky - how did I not get that before

New amended balance has me going DOWN in amount paid - phooey.

    £756.22 / £3716.14 - 20.4%

At least it all balances out now. Gutted that I have a 2k vet bill on the horizon which is going to hammer it right back up but keep reminding myself that it would be far worse if I hadn't been trying to pay it down.

Morning all. It's our council tax free month this month and our payment normally goes out today so I've moved it to the loan instead :D

  • Hey everyone!

    ** PROUD MOMENT ALERT **

I just paid of my capital one card (£469.85) and closed the account!! woo hoo it felt so good to call and say "I wish to close my acount" and the reply "oh no we are so sorry you are leaving"

Yeah too bloody right you are - i've been paying so much interest at 35% for so long now!

Now its all PAID!! Will be broke now until I get paid again in 1 months time but will then start to reap the benefits :-)

    DDx

    Somebody's happy! Well done, it's a fantastic feeling :)

well done pinkgiraffe! i'll be doing exactly the same, for the same reasons. its £30 a month that could go towards debts or the savings pot!

i've just written my first proper CV and i am terrified!!!! i was sent a job that the person thought i might be interested in (they are the recruiting manager). if i got the job it is a £13k pay increase although it would cost a fair bit in travel. i figure it is wort h a punt!

That WOULD be nice! Good luck

    Sad this evening :(
i looked up my noddle report and found I owe almost £600 more on the car than I thought. One step forward, two steps back! Serves me right for not checking the balance with the finance company and trusting the dealer figures.
I know there are people with much bigger issues and problems but I feel a bit disheartened and feel like I'm never going to be debt free :(
    Sorry for moaning

I think it's been mentioned already, but Noddle balances will include ALL the interest due to the end of the loan. The actual settlement figure will be significantly lower.

#19 here. Just paid off £6720! WooHoo!

    56.3% paid off in total!

 Wow! Well done! That's about 20% of our collective February total to date :rotfl:
  • Well done everybody, and congratulations for still going strong into February. We're around 70% of the way to last year's total, and most people haven't seen pay day yet!

We've just come back from a weekend in York. It wasn't very MSE, but I think we both needed it after being frugal without exception for the last four months. It was budgeted for (just about!) and paid for in cash, and I can only imagine how it would have gone just 12 months ago... all on the credit card! It feels like progress :)
