well done pinkgiraffe! i'll be doing exactly the same, for the same reasons. its £30 a month that could go towards debts or the savings pot!

i've just written my first proper CV and i am terrified!!!! i was sent a job that the person thought i might be interested in (they are the recruiting manager). if i got the job it is a £13k pay increase although it would cost a fair bit in travel. i figure it is wort h a punt!
  • #66 popping in to say I Have paid off £60 this week so now stand at £300/£1700 :T

Pay day this Friday too so hopefully pay another bit off my credit card too :T

It's my credit card I need to focus on really as I'm over £900 there. My credit Union I have to pay off every week to keep the interest down, and have just to pay another £450 on that and that's it done. Hopefully I can have it paid off by May/June.
I'm going to have to sit down and see how I can start paying the credit card off more. ATM I can only do one payment each Payday, and it's never more than £100 and never less than £50. I'm thinking it's February now, if I pay £50 a month off from now until June when my CU loan is paid out, that will have paid £250 off. Then I can then pay the £120 a month I currently use for the CU loan off it and hopefully by December I should be Debt free :T That's allowing for any emergency spending that needs done on the CC. That's the plan anyway lol

  • Sad this evening :(
i looked up my noddle report and found I owe almost £600 more on the car than I thought. One step forward, two steps back! Serves me right for not checking the balance with the finance company and trusting the dealer figures.
I know there are people with much bigger issues and problems but I feel a bit disheartened and feel like I'm never going to be debt free :(
    Sorry for moaning

Awww...sending virtual hugs. Sorry to hear you're not feeling great. You can and will be debt free - just keep plugging away and post here so we can keep up with your fantastic progress :)

I feel I've been MIA recently as so much going on and very little pennies paid to debts owed but determined to keep at it. Had a funny couple of days switching to 0% deals, changing energy supplier, requesting a refund for overpayments from the old one (£405!!!!!) And various shuffling and reshuffling of money. Need to get my head around it then I can post an update :j
  • Thanks dizzy imp
I've woken up feeling a lot more positive. Onwards and upwards! :j

    I have updated my signature!

Total Payments for February = £1235

If I get anymore money to pay anything else I will class it as March payment.

Actually phoned up and closed down a credit card account that I had paid off but was keeping open ''just in case''. But now have enough credit on another credit card for an emergency. So pleased I actually closed it down. Don't actually think I have ever willingly closed a credit account down myself!

I know that feeling well, at the minute I'm riding a high of payments and not milling myself either, which is good!

One thing I have gained over the years of busing my debts is perspective. And whilst I will never say I won't borrow again I will use it very wisely, or not on cars or crap society expects me to have!

The £600 is a setback sure, but it could be a lot worse, 11 months and 1 week ago I received a final demand letter from the mortgage company giving me 28 days to pay up the arrears or legal proceedings will be set in motion! Ironically it arrived on my 30th birthday to really put a dampener on the day.

I guess what I'm trying to say, in my typical long and over complicated way, is chin up, forge on and don't let the £600 upset you, it's just a few more months payments...

    Hi all

Another small payment from me, I find that as long as I pay off money as soon as I get it, it stops me using for other purposes!

    #017 £15 paid towards debt so £1079.73/£4842 22.3% :j
    LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
New roof and car £8557/£19003 New kitchen £396/£5039 Credit card Paid Student loan Paid
  • Still chipping away for now.

£75 payment to credit card to add. Can't update signature at the moment - should be a total so far of £160.92.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

its likely that figure includes all of the interest you would repay - the dealer figure would be the figure you'd pay on the day .. .from what i've experienced anyway!
