I'm doing The Positive Birth Company online course for hypnobirthing. We've only just started it, but I've seen so many people recommend it. It's £35, but we got it for £25, and they seem to have an offer on every week or so. It's videos you watch online, and some downloads etc. I figure it's useful because it teaches you so much about the whole birth process so you can make informed choices. I'm doing an NHS antenatal course - but that's just one day long, and I think I might forget stuff! Nice to rewatch the vids online if I want to.

And if I hate it, £25 hasn't broken the bank.

That sounds good. Might have to give it a look. Thanks.
Just had a “mother to be” treatment at a local salon.
It was lovely. Exfoliation and massage on back and legs then rubbing in some stuff on the belly of you want it.
The belly stuff seemed to make the baby kick which was funny.
I’d love to have it every day.
Then the stretch mark cream they gave me to put on smelt incredibly and felt lovely. Decleor aroma sculpt. Currently watching it on eBay as it’s quite expensive.
Found out today that hubby won’t be home for working away until the day of my 1st growth scan which is a bit gutting but nothing we can do. Hopefully we can find out the gender this time

Sounds lovely munchkin. Baby has stated kicking. 3 weeks later than last time, but I think it's because my placenta is anterior this time.

    Hello all

Had my 16 week check up with the midwife yesterday and all is ok. Had my whooping cough vaccination today and my arm feels sore.

No kicks yet but as it’s my first I believe it can take me longer to feel it

My arm hurt for ages after that. And I stupidly had it done in my left arm so I couldn’t sleep on it without it hurting.
I didn’t feel kicks until 20 weeks and even then only light ones.

Agreed! My arm hurt for about 3 days after the whooping couch vaccine - I hope the flu one is a little nicer. But they're necessary, better for me to have a sore arm than not get the vaccine and risk it!

I've finally decided I can't live in leggings anymore (and they're getting worn out from constant use) so actually ventured out shopping for some maternity jeans. After a number of disappointing shops I found myself in H&M and although the range isn't huge, it's bigger than most I've seen; they're fairly reasonable prices (£25-£35 per pair) and come in about 6 or 7 colors (well shades of blue, black and grey) They're great! Fit well, soft denim with some much needed stretch and a lovely big over belly band. I'd definitely recommend them. Hopefully they'll last a while.

  • I’m on a jean hunt tomorrow I think. Just so annoying that even in the nearest city there’s one or two shops that stock maternity in store. It’s all online

Yeah I found it was mainly online. Do they think pregnant women don't want to try things on? Have to say I go most of mine second hand though.

I’ve bought most of my maternity clothes off eBay. The only thing I’m comfortable in are leggings and dresses. I haven’t been able to wear any knickers as they dig in (despite getting a bigger size) for several weeks now.

I agree about stores not selling as much in store. Our new look does but I think that’s about it which is a shame

Just checking in! Hope everyone is well. I’m just over 17 weeks now and have an actual bump!

I’ve got most of my maternity stuff from Asda so far, casual stuff like leggings and tops that I wouldn’t really try on anyway.
