We haven't bought anything yet. 20wk scan next week, and after that I might start to dare... We have semi-decided on a pushchair. And my boss has a crib we're having, although need to buy a mattress.

We're definitely going to try for washable nappies and washable wipes. Wipes are a definite. Not saying we won't bust out the odd disposable, but at home I think washable ones will be fine for us if we can get the right fit. I'm planning to take quite a long time off work, so feel like we can get there. We're getting a few from friends who used them, so that'll help.

Also booked onto Mothercare and Mama's and Papa's 'expectant parent' events. Apparently you get freebies and some good info, such as baby first aid, and it's all free. Not going until August though!

    Good luck sleeping everyone <3

It's my first too! They said we should just try a couple at first (also if a small newborn the cloth ones might be a little too big at first) to see if we get on with them so we'll definately be using disposables a little at first. We wouldn't have got them yet but they were on a special offer at the baby show.

I really like the cheeky wipes too so might get those. Saw a demo of them at baby show but no reason not to buy them nearer the time :) I don't mind using some disposables but like the idea of cutting down on baby related waste!

We can't afford to get new everything . Luckily MIL thinks she has a crib and cot we can have. I'm worrying about the expense of prams and carseats. Might get second hand pram (I know not reccomended for car seats).

Honestly, I don't think we'll even have a car by the time I pop. We barely use ours, given we both live and work in London. But we'll still hire one to go and see our folks, so still need a car seat!! It does kind of feel like a waste, but...I don't see a way around it.

And we only live in a flat, so we're trying to get relatives not to buy us just any old thing, but actually stuff we need. So far it's going well, with offers of donations for pushchairs etc. I can't bear clutter, so this is good! And getting lots of offers of clothes/bits and bobs from friends, which is lovely :)

Hi ladies, I!!!8217;ve graduated on to this board! Had my 12 week scan on Tuesday and they put me ahead so I!!!8217;m now 13+2 EDD 06/12 (and they did listen to the heartbeat which was lovely). I!!!8217;m also really struggling to sleep and don!!!8217;t want to invest in a preggo pillow If it!!!8217;s not going to be any good. I!!!8217;ve seen very mixed reviews on Amazon for all the different kinds so really not sure!
Also not finding out the sex which will be exciting xx

Welcome! My 12wk scan put me forward to 13wks too :) Now at 19+2.

I had a look at preggo pillows in mothercare today, and I think I want a sausage/long one, rather than a fancy shaped one. The one I really like is mega expensive though - especially given it's just a sausage :D so I'm going to have to look around...

Have you been sleeping with 'normal' pillows so far? That's what's made me think I just want a sausage...I like having it wedged between my legs, but also like to lean on a pillow, too.

I think we've now chosen a crib and a pushchair, but omg are car seats confusing me!!

Hey Bosscount, I!!!8217;ve been using an old V shaped pillow for between my legs, which will do for breastfeeding. But I need something that will stop me rolling onto my back. I also have lower back ache so something supportive would be good, although I have a lovely prenatal massage booked for later so really looking forward to that.
You are very organised with the crib and pushchair- they seem most confusing for me! I think I am just going to get a maxi cosy car seat as that is what everyone seems to recommend.

That's me now 15+2. Got my 16 week midwife appointment on Wednesday. Also got our 20 week scan date, it's 2nd July so not long to go!

Was DDs 2nd birthday on Tuesday. She had a lovely time and she's been talking to my "belly baby" the last few days. She shouts hello at it :rotfl:

I have the silvercross pioneer pram from when DD was a baby so just reusing it. Also getting a new car seat. Been looking at Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus. We had the Silvercross Simplicity with DD, would not recommend.

I really want a swivel car seat, as I'm missing two discs in my lower back and really don't want to struggle getting the baby in and out of the car. I think we'll go for the Maxi-cosi Axissfix. There's none I like better, and I think I prefer a top tether to the leg that takes up even more space in the footwell. Feel like we'll need a lot of space!

I sort of fell in love with the Tutti Bambini CoZee, so...that's the crib we'll go for! Comes with a carry bag and folds flat, so we can take it to the relatives if we need to.

Also really like the Uppababy Cruz. Went to JL yesterday and had a woman explain their entire range of prams/pushchairs etc and we still like the Cruz the best, so I guess that's sorted! The in-laws have offered to put money towards it, which is nice.

Hope you have a lovely massage, T4Taylor!

Good luck with the appointments, Toots. Hope you get to listen for the heartbeat at your 16wk :)

Got our Anomaly scan on thursday, immediately followed by a meeting with the anaesthetist... I don't even know what that's about, apart from pain relief during the birth? Anyone else scheduled for that?

We have yhe joie360 for DD Bosscout. It's the best. I have nerve damage and weakness in my left arm so can't use it properly so the swivel is a godsend for me.

I've managed to get a maxi cosy base for free (along with car seat but I'll get a new one instead of second hand). I wanted a swivel one but I think I'll save more money this way. Could always go with one that turns for the next seat.

My 20 week scan is after yours toots- I'll actually be about 22 weeks for mine though. Are you guys planning to find out the sex? We're planning to stay team yellow :) I won't be upset if I find out by accident though...

I don't know what I want from a pregnancy pillow. I'm currently struggling to get comfy. I probably do need to stop myself turning on my back . I like having a pillow between legs and keep struggling with how many pillows I want under my head and wanting to lie on arms but then that hurts my arms after a bit... waking up every night at the moment:(
