  • So pleased to see so many of you over here from the last thread :)

Had my 16 week appointment and midwife found the heartbeat within a few seconds, very reassuring as I have been almost completely devoid of symptoms this week which on the one hand was fantastic but the other made me worry as I never had that with DC1, I felt rotten right up to the end.

Euronorris - thanks for the link, I had that one last time and it was very good. Seriously considering the double version of it this time. Glad your midwife appt. went well :)

Oooh this thread is lovely and active again :) Welcome Good Vibes, glad to see you here :)

Pigpen it amazes me how rubbish your hospital is! And the cheek they have to blame you for their failing to get you scanned.

Lemon fingers crossed baby behaves next time!

moneypenny I love hearing the heartbeat, glad to hear they found your jellybean's right away :)

Wow, quite a few new joiners over here in the last week. I can't keep up! lol

Welcome goodvibes! Wishing you lots of good health for the pregnancy. I know you've been waiting for this longer than most, and I'm pleased your scan went well also.

Pigpen - I'm sorry that your scan turned out to be too late for the nuchal testing. Fingers crossed for the quadruple test. Do you have to wait long for the results?

Moneypenny - I'm glad you got to hear the heartbeat too. It's amazing isn't it? And so reassuring!

Lemon - I hope the next scan goes well and they can do all the measurements/checks they need to. Little tinkers they are! I swear mine likes to stretch out onto my bladder, as I'll be fine one second, then feel some pressure and be desperate for a wee the next! lol

Lulu - How are you getting on at work now? Has it improved? I hope so.

Anyone else I've missed - sorry, I'm trying to keep up. I hope you are all doing wonderfully too! :)

As for me, I had another random bad day yesterday. Awful headache, that just wouldn't shift. I started eating dinner, had two mouthfuls and promptly threw up. Oddly, headache then disappeared and I was still ravenous, so I continued with dinner like nothing had happened! lol. Was very annoying though as I have an exam coming up that I have not studied enough for. I was trying to catch up this weekend and spent all of Saturday studying (with breaks), and planned to do the same on Sunday, but wasn't able to. Ho Hum. What will be, will be, I suppose.

Oh, my sister sent me a picture of the high chair she has this morning asking if I'd like that as well as they are going to switch to a smaller one now that their youngest is a bit older. I was very happy to say yes to that! lol

Oh dear, euro I hope you feel better soon, nothing worse than a stubborn headache!!

I wish I could say it was improving but I found out this morning she was going to go and complain about me to the head of my department without trying to sort 'it' out between us. To me there was nothing to sort out but it's just another way for her to paint me as a bully. Luckily two people talked her out of it. I'm sick of this schoolyard attitude from someone 8 years older than me.. Oh well. 8.5 weeks until maternity leave. Only 6 are full weeks..

Yeah, hugs lulu. That sounds like a horrid work environment for you at the moment.

Are you able to speak to the woman directly about it? Or are you thinking of not going back after maternity leave?

Oh lulu, that sounds horrible, what a nasty person she is.

Pigpen, sorry to hear that it was too late for the nuchal scan. When do you hope to get your results back?

Still shattered and throwing up every now and then. Last time was 11pm on Saturday night after helping a friend make a birthday cake for her 4 yo so it might have been tiredness.

Getting ready for our holiday to Val Thorens a week on Saturday. There is so much snow there at the moment so I'm disappointed that I can't ski or board but baby is way more important so I'm just happy that I can still go. We're meeting friends there so hubby will have people he can board with and I can meet them in the cafes at the mountain tops for lunch :O)

Seeing our consultant on Monday to find out what happens next and how long I need to keep taking the meds. Hoping she doesn't say to stop before going to France as I would hate for anything to happen whilst abroad so would ask that I can make any changes once we're back in the UK.

Well I've decided that unless it is work related I am keeping contact with her to a minimum. Everything I say seems to offend her and, in Friday's case, when I was the one who was upset it was made about her so now I have to have a meeting with my manager about it!!! I'm actually livid because I haven't done anything wrong and I'm being made to look like a horrible person, never mind the fact that she upset me on Friday but it's still my fault for some reason! She spoke to me yesterday to apologise (but it was more about how she felt so to me it was a half apology - it was after this I found out what I wrote yesterday so I knew it wasn't genuine)

I have considered not going back. Someone has offered me a working from home job so I will probably be taking that. I just feel in this whole situation that she makes mountains out of molehills and it stresses me out, which I really don't want, especially as I'm carrying twice as many babies as she is! The more this goes on the more inclined I am to start my maternity leave asap.

  • Hi guys! Joining you here in this thread. I'm 12 weeks + 3 days I think? Had my 12 scan there on Monday, so happy to see baby enjoying themselves in there.

First time mum here so be prepared for daft questions.

Feeling pretty good, I was pretty lucky with morning sickness and just felt nauseous rather than get sick. Next scan will be on the 20th February which so far away I feel. Anyhoo, starting to sink in now.

When do you usually start buying/collecting stuff? I told a few mums the other day that I was pregnant and they've said they would let me know when they are selling on bits - it'd be a massive help and I'm not too proud to turn down a 2nd hand pram

Welcome tata! I'm glad your scan went well :)

When you start buying stuff is totally up to you. Some prefer to wait until after the 20 week scan, but personally I've been getting a few bits where I can as they are on sale at the moment. It's whatever you feel comfortable with :)

Lulu, I'm so sorry to hear that about your work, and I don't blame you for wanting to start your maternity leave sooner. Do you have a HR person/dept that you could speak to about it who might be able to help?
