Thanks for reminding about paternity leave, completely forgot they need to apply for it. my OH had already booked off 2 weeks holiday beginning of June so will cancel it move it depending on what happens as he gets one week full pay paternity and will take another week as holiday.
  • Hi everyone, Happy New Year!

It sounds like everyone is doing well!

It's been a busy few days in our little household...

... After our 20wk scan on Dec 19th we were booked in for another appointment on NYE to check the heart as they couldn't persuade baby to move from behind OH's scar which was blocking a proper clear view. They also wanted to double check the stomach size as it had shown up as slightly large (GD indicator). It was lovely to see it again, especially on NYE! They got a MUCH clearer view of everything this time... heart is absolutely fine and tummy is measuring at 95th centile (I think that's what they said!) They seemed much happier about it than before! We even got another snap for the album which was an amazingly clear side profile - for free!

Over the Christmas and NY period I have also bought a few essentials in the sales at great prices - we even finally decided on a pram after what seemed like a million fruitless trips (4 actually!) to random shops to view specific prams... which just confused us more!

We've gone for a Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix (£67.99 on Amazon on Christmas day) with Easyfix base (£89.99)...
... and the Joie Chrome pushchair that is currently on an amazing deal in Mothercare (comes with carrycot and car seat, car seat will be sold or donated) for £250!
Really pleased with what we have... just hope it lives up our expectations! I always love getting a bargain but when you get the things you were actually prepared to pay more for at a bargain price it's SWEET! At one point on the mad pushchair hunt we'd almost decided to go with a Silvercross Pioneer which was going to cost over twice as much as the one we ended up going for and didn't really offer any added functionality or look that much different (apart from being bigger all round!)

We've also taken delivery of a huge amount of neutral (we're team yellow!) hand-me-downs from OH's sister - most of them are like new! They're now all packed away in bump's drawers and the moses basket is on it's new stand (again a hand-me-down!) in the corner of our room - this is all getting a bit serious now! I'll be glad when OH goes back to work (teacher) so the 'nesting' can be put back on hold! :rotfl:

I'm still here just busy with christmas new year and then getting back into the school run and work routine.

Whilst off work I took up pregnancy yoga, doesn't actually feel like exercise as it's mainly stretching and breathing! I've actually stuck to doing it most nights as it's helping me with sleeping a little longer through the night, but with going back to work I was worried I'd be too tired, but I did it last night so fingers crossed I'll be able to continue doing it, hoping it helps my stamina for labour as I had a very long and not very nice one last time!

We have our 20 week scan on 20/01 when we will be 20+4. We're excited about that. I wanted a surprise but DH wants to know what the gender is, so if we can see we will probably find out!

I have looked at a few prams online and have my eye on the Britax Affinity, the Silver Cross Surf 2 and the Mamas and Papas Zoom, but we haven't seen them in person to make an educated decision. I have also {shamefully} started packing my labour bag and babies bag, stupid I know but I'm ultra organised {and excited!}.

Hope everyone is ok and have had fantastic Christmas' and New Year :) x

Hi all, I'm 25 weeks today so just thought I'd pop on for a last post on this thread before moving up to the next one. Eeeek!!! All's well and I have MW appointment tomorrow, no concerns myself as baby is kicking away and I've been feeling well too. Apart from the crazy heartburn, but at least that is a minor pregnancy niggle.

I wish you all much luck and comfort, and hope to see you on the big thread in due time :) Hoping the upcoming scans go well and you get to see healthy, bouncy babies xx

Just wait, the next thread is scarier! When DH was leaving this morning, he said 'only 8 more weeks or so until we meet little one!' It's making me go  to say the least! Baby is ok to come anywhere from 8 1/2 - 11 more weeks, and I'm already bricking it!

Oh good luck with it all. Very exciting times ahead. Is if your first?
