    Hi there,
Is it okay if I join in? I have added myself to the list - hopefully correctly! I am 17ish weeks at the moment with my first.
  • Welcome Jamja, of course you are welcome! Congratulations on the pregnancy :j

What a hectic few days, this is literally the first chance I've had to sit down since before Christmas. I see everyone is ticking along beautifully, and a few of you are leaving us to go the last thread - EEK!

Christmas was a wonderful occasion as usual. Spent at the in laws and then we've all been away to Bath for 3 days - second year in a row, although I'm not sure how we'll do with 2 little'uns next year
Everyone was thoroughly spoiled and we're all still stuffed.

Had a terrible night last night, DS was poorly and vomited everywhere - twice - just to make sure he covered both sofas, my snuggle throw, two dressing gowns, my slippers, 3 muslins and two sets of pyjamas. Yippee. It's the first time he's actually been sick through being ill ever though, and at 16 months I can't complain. Hopefully he's back to himself soon.

Doesn't seem to be any rest for the wicked. We're hosting NYE tomorrow, though I quite fancy the 8.30pm bed time to be honest. We didn't even bother staying up last year - we were home alone with a 4 month old and decided to make the most of it. Cooking for the in laws and our two friends who are over from New Zealand for a bit, the next time I see them will be at our wedding in 18 months time (if we ever get the bloody thing booked!).

Ahh Wendz, that's really reassuring. I'm now 18+3 and have felt mostly flutters and the odd flicking sensation but nothing other than that. I don't even look pregnant compared to last time, although my jeans would tell you otherwise ;)

How is everyone else doing? NYE plans? Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas xxx

    Hi Jamja!

Not long till a few of us have our 20 week scans!

Had a day at work today but was a short one and DD went to my friends for the day as her nursery is shut.

Ringtobe- hope your ds is feeling better, horrible when they are poorly.
  • Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to wish you all a happy new year and hope you are all doing just what you want tonight whether going out to a party or staying at home in your PJ's and going to bed early (the latter for me!)

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and all is fine, and like Wendz, I've been sorting out my little girls baby clothes and seeing what will work for this baby who is a boy - only about 20% of what we bought apparently ! However, when I look at what that is it looks like it should be plenty and just shows me how much too much I bought when she was small.

So my advice for those who are doing this the first time around, definitely don't get carried away with the shopping - we bought far to much and have things in the suitcase that she grew out of and only wore once or twice (or even not at all:o).
  • Heya ladies

Exciting to see lots of scans in January.

I am feeling good at the moment, anyone get the strange achey feeling in legs, I never got it with my first pregnany so it's a new one on me, have had it most days for months. Now starting to get a bit of back pain not as bad as my first pregnancy though, I was in pain everyday from 20 weeks.
Had a great rest of christmas, with 10 days off work, 2 days back then a further 5 days off.

Today we have put the Christmas decks back in the loft so we got some of the baby stuff down, car seat, Moses basket and bouncer, we won't need them for about 5 months but we thought might as well get them down.

Got a call from midwife to say my mat b1 form is waiting for me, so I will have to get that collected and mat leave form submitted needs to be in by end of January.

Did anyone get any baby bargains in the sales?

I got vests and pants for my little boy as I like the mothercare ones and they were half price. DIdn't look for much else as didn't want to be tempted to spend.

I had a bad back with my dd but haven't so far.

That's good about your matb1 Jedi, when are you planning to start maternity leave?

Haven't bought anything as we don't have much to buy and waiting to see if it's a girl/boy first .
  • Hi Jamja!

I haven't bought anything. We're team yellow but as ds is only 13m we still have all of his things and a lot of the tiny baby/newborn things were neutral so have enough to get us through until I go out and buy pink if needed - we obviously still have the blue. We do have some things from our DD's but just sentimental things do not sure I'd risk ruining those. Need to start saving towards a double pram though. Have my eye on a bugaboo donkey.

Can't believe in just 4m I'll have another baby. Scary. It's flown by so far. Baby has been kicking so much that you could see tummy moving from the outside. Last night and this morning however, nothing. Used the Doppler to stop me worrying and as soon as it touched my tummy you could hear the heartbeat loudly booming away. Baby has definitely grown since I checked a few weeks ago. Love hearing it.

Hope you're all doing well and have been able to rest over the christmas break.

    Xx

  • Same here re the neutral stuff, 80% of our 0-3m stuff is white etc

Exciting getting a new pram, I think we will manage with a buggy board as little man will be 2 years and 9 months by the time baby comes, I also might use my close caboo sling for baby and have little man in pushchair, see how it goes, at the moment I would walk far without a pushchair for my little boy as he goes everywhere and I have to contain him lol

I a, planning mat leave 2 weeks before I am due and a couple of weeks leading up to that I am going to do shorter weeks, currently do 3 days weeks so will drop down to 2 day.

Will be good to get the form in as dh has already submitted his paternity leave form.
