It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

    Afternoon all
Feel sick. Got some scratches on the side of my car, also a slight dent, dont know how they got there. Went to local place to get an estimate and he reckons will cost £440. He also mentioned as its near christmas that they want £100 deposit before they do the job. Also, cant fit me in till next Monday. Have used this guy before and comes highly recommended. Just wondering, does this sound like average payment or do you think he has bumped up the price as its near christmas. Also wondering if its better to wait till January and then get some estimates.

Gotta tell OH yet. He will go :mad::mad:

My DH reversed into our drive last year and the gatepost must have med cos he hit it ! Dented the side panel and took paint off all down both door panels. They were able to pull the dent out, fill and respray the side - cost £499 at the local Kia Dealer . Yours doesn't sound too inflated basd on that.

Pity the side of the house moved last month as DH was reversing in - same bloomin side of the car and now we are minus a tail light ! Planning on having that replaced - but the scratches can stay as they are ! He is now telling me that the reversing sensors are not working properly - he's a silly old far* but he's my silly old far* and wo betide anyone else who critisises him !

  • Today is filled with bad luck.

I've a Groupon order that has yet to be dispatched after 10 days, they've emailed me tracking but it's pulling a blank... Wanted the item as a gift for Christmas, safe to say their customer service is the worst of it's kind. Im going to have to really work at getting my money back or products here!

Next is Asda, ordered another gift on the very same day, again strangely enough, marked as dispatched after a shocking 5 days!! Then tracking details returning a blank, est Delivery Date was the 11th. Rang Customer Services this morning the guy I spoke to was so mono-tone it was actually unreal. He seemed so happy to help. Not. He said he would call the couriers and get back to me safe to say 7 hours on I've heard nothing, probably unlike to hear anything I'm guessing that'll require further chasing.

As for the OP asking about car damages, get some quotes, I scuffed my alloy REALLLY badly and they charged me £50 came to house to do it, and made an amazing job actually couldn't tell. My mind was blown!
Also had a dent in my boot that was pulled out for around the same price, again they came to my house. I don't think it's the time of the year that company just sounds like it's taking you for what you've got. When I got quotes for my alloy I rang around 3 different places the quotes came in at £180, £100, and £50. I chose the £50 and I would again for the results he achieved.

Everything is more at a dealership. I've learnt that first hand. :(

Good afternoon all. busy day for me - been to the library to see what books are available for home educating dd2. Came back with a couple that look useful, then babysat gs1 for a few hours while dd1 went to get some work done at college.

I did manage to get a sanex shop in - my first on the last day! Also have a hd booked for later so will have managed to get a couple. Apg was as expected using the sanex double deo trigger. Also got some dettol wipes with white bloo as trigger. I am always so late to the party :rotfl:

Please could one of you be kind enough to explain the Dettol Wipes and Sanex glitch to me. I am going to Sada in a minute and wouldn't mind giving it a whirl, but knowing how thick I am, it will go straight over my head. I've had a look at the shopping receipts, but obviously the triggers are missing and I have no idea what they are.

    Many thanks in advance.

The trigger for the packs of 36 anti-bacterial wipes is the bloo loo gel. You can use either the blue or the white bottle. The 2 are on a 2 for £2 offer but the gel is not showing, so compares as £2.26 against £1 in T.
