    Afternoon all
Feel sick. Got some scratches on the side of my car, also a slight dent, dont know how they got there. Went to local place to get an estimate and he reckons will cost £440. He also mentioned as its near christmas that they want £100 deposit before they do the job. Also, cant fit me in till next Monday. Have used this guy before and comes highly recommended. Just wondering, does this sound like average payment or do you think he has bumped up the price as its near christmas. Also wondering if its better to wait till January and then get some estimates.

Gotta tell OH yet. He will go :mad::mad:

I had two bumpers done, they came to my house to do it and charged me £120. It was full rear bumper and the corners of the front bumper.

You can get it done way cheaper than you've been quoted. I think they saw you coming :o

Without seeing it, it is hard to tell but I had a scrape down the side of my car, damaged trim too and a paint sprayer mate charged £250 mates rates 10 years ago...so prob about right tbh...

unfortunately as small business he has prob been shafted previously by non payers , so now has to ask for a desposit....the scammers spoil it for every one else but I would get a 2nd opinion too!:D

Just had a lovely response from Lakeland :)

I ordered a couple of baking trays for my mum and was  when they came in two large boxes. Well, one had the trays in it, the other had some random bits in it and a delivery note with a different name but didn't relate to what was in the box either!
Phoned CS who couldn't figure it out and told me to keep it :D
So now I have a few cookie cutter sets, 3 x xmas crackers, a small LED xmas tree and 2 x weird pinecone thingies for open fires (passed these on to work colleagues) over £100 worth of stuff for free :D

Am feeling rubbish still. Have phoned in sick for tonight :( Hate letting people down but have a fever now and achey all over. Certainly don't want to pass it on to any ladies or colleagues at work. Dsis is over as planned as I'd normally have a nap before a night shift. So I've been able to come to bed for a rest and she'll do the school run :A

Hugs logie (((X))) hope you feel better soon.

You cant go into your job if you feel that bad :(

Good afternoon all. I've sort of caught up now, although I've had to do a bit of skipping too. So pleased to hear that both rhosynbach and queenofcheap have good news and that tweets is now almost the size of a twig :D
Popped in a cheeky udi order to collect this evening as I had e vouchers about to go off, so fingers crossed. From other reports today it should be fine.
Lots of work and admin to catch up on, so will leave you all for now and pop back again later.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Wish I was lol :D

Thanks for all your replies. Yes this is on the passenger side too. Was your quote for insurance springdreams. I told him I would pay cash. I think he is bumping up the price because christmas is near. Do you think it would be ok to wait a few weeks till after christmas. there is several small deepish scratches and a longish single line dent with superficial scratch. Cant believe my bad luck grrr.

There are a few of these companies out there get a few free estimates http://www.carmedic.co.uk/

Yes it was for insurance purposes. Two of my brothers are mechanics, and confirmed that the price is the going rate for the damage that was done. But as Locarr, David. and others say, do get a few quotes. Especially since it seems that you will be paying for the work rather than an insurance company.

If you are happy to wait until after Christmas, then do so. The car is scarcely likely to become a rust bucket in a few weeks ;)

  • good afternoon guys, does anyone know of any deals with boiler care cover at the minute please, we took one out with HES last year for £10 per month, not too sure if it was a "complimentary" sort of offer but just got the renewal through and it has almost doubled to £18.50 per month:eek: so shopping around for a cheaper alternative.
