Yodel Can't Cope And Suspend All Collections

I ordered some stuff from Nespresso over the weekend and it was delivered today by Yodel.
Fair play to them for delivering so promptly.0 -
Why?! What a ridiculous thing to say!! You got your money back so you have not lost out. The whole US compensation culture is certainly making its way over here isn't it!I am waiting to here further, but if my item was stolen, then I deserve more compensation than just a refund is what I am saying.
Go on then, do so. You have no loss so not sure how the police would address your non-loss situation. Its the seller that's currently at loss and should be contacting the police.I think having an item stolen by a currier is out of order, and if I wanted too, I could involve the police.
Take a step back, take a deep breath and think about what you are actually saying because its coming across on here as rather silly!!0 -
"Delivery" made to our address on Saturday such that tracking is now redundant. No card, no van tracking near our house at all.
Spent Sunday trying to find the item, and was eventually told that it had been delivered elsewhere and to contact the driver's mobile number.
The driver has no idea who he gave my parcel to but thinks it must be somebody on his rounds - I suggested if he gave my parcel to them, instead of theirs, whichever parcel he has left over is where he delivered mine to.
His response was maybe he gave them mine as well?
This is all shoddy, but the guy was apologetic and I was satisfied I would at least be able to ask the supplier to send another through a proper courier, -
however, having seen the POD sent across by the supplier, it looks like an attempt to forge my signature.
If it had been randomly handed to somebody in addition to their package, how likely is it that their name and signature would closely resemble my own?
I'm suspicious that either;
the item has been stolen by the driver using a forged signature
or
the driver signed for it in order to make it look as though he had hit delivery deadline, and now that he has lost it he has not way of tracing.
Any sympathy I did hold for him has evaporated.
If you're on this thread I'm 99% likely to be preaching to the choir, but check with suppliers what courier they intend to use if you want to ensure delivery. If it's Yodel, shop elsewhere.0 -
They suspected the item was stolen by the driver therefore they was going to interview him.
I am waiting to here further, but if my item was stolen, then I deserve more compensation than just a refund is what I am saying.
That's like me going into restaurant and receiving under cooked steak, a refund will be given. BUT if the steak was undercooked on purpose, lets say because of my nationality (and I found out).. that would be a higher complaint.

Damned curriers, was it a steak curry by any chance?0 -

It looks like they are prioritising their big customers. I am waiting for a private parcel, dropped off at the shop Mon 8th, left depot Tues 9th, arrived at hub Sat 13th and has sat there since. :mad:0

Maybe if this really is too difficult a concept for a parcel company I should set myself up as an adviser and remind them each year when Christmas is.
.
Or set yourelf up as a courier company - apparently it's easy.
Comparing production items such as easter eggs to parcels is like comparing chees and chalk.
Easter egg manufacturers produce other chocolate items, so the machinery can be used the other 9-10 months of they year, the raw material supply will remain broadly the same over the year. Easter eggs can be stored and it's a higly automated industry. Delivering parcels is highly labour intensive, requiring a huge amount of extra vehicles and drivers for a short burst of time.
The main problem is that the money is rubbish, as ever you get what you pay for and the only way for parcel companies to compete is on price and then it all goes wrong. There's a certain amount of extra capacity that can be dealt with, Broadwood referred to it when he worked for HDNL before it became Yodel. I think however, since those days, the spike in activity has increased exponentially since 2005.0 -
ha, one of my drivers left a flat screen TV to be collected by DPD from the office. DPD have told him that there was no-one here....I haven't moved from my seat all morning!0

It seems that their tracking is not working either as it has gone to loaded onto local van missing out the bits in between but has now been deliveredIt looks like they are prioritising their big customers.
