Joking apart in previous message, I would avoid Yodel at all costs.

I have had some dealings with these guys at a place where I used to work.

When ever I heard an item was coming by them, I used to sigh and automatically set up some form of parallel contingency plan as I knew it either would not show up on the day or would end up going back to the suppliers.

Yodel should not exist but somehow they do. Why?

I hope you're within the weight limits, you don't want to get a surcharge;)

Yep!, definitely would get the surcharge! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Collect Plus is truly wonderful. Parcel taken to their Maidstone depot on Monday morning for Collect Plus 24 delivery to a residential address 25 miles away.

Four days later, tracking site still showing parcel marked for delivery @ 1835hrs Monday. All customer "service" can do is keep repeating "due to unprecedented demand yada yada yada" and say we will get the parcel. Can't say when though ...

Similar problem. Dropped off parcel at local Spar shop for three day delivery on the 1/12/14 still not delivered today 12/12/14. Many excuses including parcel sent to wrong distribution centre but should be there shortly, 7 days ago. Didn't realise that Collect + used Yodel, if I had I'd have used the Post Office, more expensive but at least my parcel would have been delivered when it should have been. (Hopefully)

Collect Plus uses Yodel. My Hermes had a fire at their warehouse which caused machinery to break down. They apparently are struggling with the Black Friday parcels too.

Not sure if it is true but heard from two couriers for two different companies that according to Yodel couriers, Yodel refused to take on any extra staff this Christmas. Just a rumour though.

Ah...that explains a lot! Thanks for letting me know.

  • For a change its not yodels fault. Their customers forecasts were so woeful that yodel could not resource for the likes of m&s being wrong by hundreds of thousands of parcels and not giving their customers an increased lead time to compensate.
  • Yodel have been really poor for years so they must be in a right mess just now if they have decided to admit there is a problem.

They should be swerved - regardless of price - all year round but especially at Christmas.
