Having tried to do it online during the day and failing to make progress, I then tried to do it online at night (just after midnight) both on thursday night and friday night, and both times I got an "internal server error" just after entering the debit card details. The listed phones lines were always engaged. This afternoon I tried the phone number in post 156 (thanks) and got through straight away, and did it over the phone. They are going to send some paperwork for us to fill in (I assume they will want the same info you have to provide when you make a paper application - but this way I've got my bond reserved!).

That`s the only way you`ll get a vote on in or out of the EU and emigration.
Kick the Tories up the ar*e!

The ONLY party offering an IN/OUT of Europe referendum are the conservatives in 2017 if re-elected.
What an uneducated idiot you are.

We managed to do one for my husband yesterday late evening (sorry, mean Friday) but I got a message saying my password is suspended when trying for myself. I have to ring to sort that out, but after trying all day Saturday I finally got through at 10p.m. and decided to wait to get an answer from a person, not a recorded voice. I waited for 1hour, 58 mins. and gave up because the phone was saying out of battery. I've tried both the 0500 number and the number from earlier posts but just the engaged tone. I spent 2 hours on the phone last night listening to the recorded voice telling me they were trying... I MUST phone them but when. Does it really take 2 hours and more or am I trying too late at night? So frustrated with it all.
  • Just tried the phone and the recording says at least 30 mins delay before they can answer!!!!
Hey ho, its off to bed I go.:D

Your the idiot if you really think Cameron will keep his word about an in out referendum.
The same as Brown and Blair did.
Only with a UKIP coalition will you get the vote.
Your just a blind fool who will believe anything your told.
As for immigration, UKIP is for limited immigration which is not unreasonable when most of our services can`t cope because of past and current policies.

I don`t blame you, and of course you can get your hands on it instantly if you need to.

After much thought I have decided at 71 years old to start spending my money not saving it for another 3 years I already have fixed accounts although they pay monthly interest so I can spend some of that as well. If I was 5 years younger I might have bought the bonds. A big deciding factor was that I lost 2 of my friends last week both in mid seventies and both dying on the same day

Similar thoughts here ,Home. Lost a great friend last year too.
Biggest change in the last year has been diverting charity giving to where I get a chance of a return. For example British Legion and Air Ambulance lottery ,though did buy some codger bonds.

I was successful on day one , but only by using the geographic numbers on 'say no to 0870'....what a useful site.

Having made the purchases, I was given 16 digit alpha-numeric reference numbers. Within 30 minutes confirmation emails were received, BUT BE AWARE that the numbers on these will be different to the ones given to you orally over the phone. I phoned back thinking there had be a 'SNAFU' but was told that this was normal and the numbers given over the phone are correct and to ignore the emailed ones.

Advice...keep a record of everything you receive!
