What delays??? There have been no delays, the Supreme Court judges are deciding the verdict and all of us are speculating when they will have their decision
i will not be voting for labour
It is not a political decision but a legal one

Businesses are not involved in the OFT test case and the current court case is about if the terms that causes the charges are assessable for fairness.

I think the mortgage charges providing it is not for leaving a fixed rate deal early are reclaimable in the same way as bank charges.0 -
I think that as the credit card industry agreed that a £12 charge was fair ,and have refunded the difference to those that have claimed it . It is reasonable for the banks to agree to use the same charges . My partner has put in a claim with this in mind , so here is hope they stop messing about and get it sorted .0

The banks have never defended their charges in a court where a precedent can be set. In fact the OFT report on default fees and credit cards in 2006 stated that only a court can decide on what is a fair fee. The £12.00 was an interim measure.0 -

Ok I'm glad I still have that information to hand. Do I have to start again with the same standard letters as before, knowing full well that Abbey have put all refund cases on hold?
OK I'm back again, I sent the first letter and as expected received a standard response. I don't qualify for hardship response. Abbey said they logged the complaint in their standard letter response. Do I send a "letter before action" or do I simply go straight to logging complaint with ombudsman?0 -
The House of Lords is supposed to announce its decision in the OFT test case in October, isn't it?
We are almost in November, any news of when this might happen?0 -
