Ok I'm glad I still have that information to hand. Do I have to start again with the same standard letters as before, knowing full well that Abbey have put all refund cases on hold?
Start the process and with the letter please send an income and expenditure form which for abbey is here: http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/showpost.php?p=127469&postcount=5
I'm NatWestStaffMemeber there as well and you need to register to print it out. Please read the post which is the information I got from Abbey themselves.

  • Hello, this is great article. I have blog and I thanks to say you thanks. Regards!
  • I put my claim into my bank near the end of 2006. My court case was on the day the hold was put into place. Therefore my bank didn't turn up to the court case and so it was given in my favour. But i have not heard anything from my bank or the courts regarding the claim. Is there any way i can get any information about what i can do or who i can speak to about this? It's a lot of money i'm waiting on and could really do with it!

You have a judgement in default but as you haven't enforced it, I am not really sure if it is even in the queue to be honest since they may be unaware that judgement was issued against them. I would write to them with the claim number giving them 7 days to pay up or you will enforce it and send it to their head office. Unfortunately, it will cost you to enforce it.

Are there any employers that do not use banks? Thanks to HSBC I no longer have a bank account.
I have been ill for about 6years, but now I am looking into the job market again. I have no way to open an account. I have no proof of ID what so ever. don't you think its time we all ditched the banks? We all got allong quite well without them before.:T

Don't look for an employer who doesn't use banks look for a credit union and have your wages paid in there.
  • hi its my first post hear and sorry if this has already been answered but i put a claim in for my bank charges early on in 2007 with the bank delaying a response my claim fell under the stop of bank charges being refunded. i am just wondering how long this is going to continue for i heard that an announcment was going to be made 2nd October 2009 i have recently been made redundant and the money that i am owed would help me out alot while looking for further employement i tried to go down the hardship route for my claim but because i dont have debts over a certain amount i was not able to claim hardship. any information is appreciated.

    Thanks

The current litigation is about whether the terms can be assessed for fairness and not whether the terms are fair. That means that even if the OFT wins, whilst it is a huge step forwards, we still have further litigation as to which terms are unfair. It is almost the 50% stage of the case.

Has anyone reading had any luck with asking for a quick settlement of less than the amount originally cited in their letters, in particular from Abbey, since the case started?
