Strip club scam

Personally I think you have no chance with the bank or police here and would only have a possible resolution via a Court claim but due to the amount you are seeking and partnered with the fact that it is a dubious case to say the least could be a waste of money.
On the other hand if you are adamant you have been ripped off then go for it but be prepared to lose a lot more money and time as claiming approx. £3000.00 back will not be easy that's for sure.
If it were me then I would forget the bank and Police and just write a 7 day notice letter stating that you require a full resolution to the issue you claim and see what they say, I do suspect there is more to this and I am not saying I doubt you but to be honest I think you are peeing in the wind here.0 -
I suspect you are right about the bank but so far the police have been very helpful and it was them that encouraged me to dispute the rejection. I honestly believe that if I can convince the bank to look into it in any sort of detail they'll conclude that something dodgy has gone (enough to refund my mobey) on but getting them to do that is difficult when they wont speak to me over the phone and apparently dont have email access!0

Me neither, but if I did I'd probably sit down, wouldn't be as uncomfortable.
Tbh your a madman going in there with a card.
Mind you one thing sticks out, why were you surrounded by 'dancers' (plural) at the bar when paying at the bar when your friend intervened?

I'll have to agree to disagree on the bringing my card out thing (even though it was unplanned). Having a card on you when drunk doesn't mean people are allowed to scam you and it'd be much more difficult to prove anything with just cash. But tgen again you wouldnt carry 3k round with you normally do I take your point.
His memory is vague but he says there were a few of them and he approached as he got the impression that something dodgy was going on as I was drunk and might be being taken advantage of etc When he saw the 3k he told the barman to cancel it as I didn't know what I was doing and my response to him was that I thought I was buying a drink. Why we didn't leave there and then is the question0 -

quite. you have been scammed. so take action on that basis. i support you entirely. but fwiw i think i would leave this thread alone & get on with sorting it out.0 -
Taking a card is risky business, as you do some daft things if you even have extra money that you didn't intend to use. You always get rather excited in the moment and can do daft things and then regret it later.
I'm not saying you did or didn't, but into the bargain your credit card company might think that you've possibly tried the old 'let's impress' card (pardon the pun) when having shall we say too much, and you could've been agreeing to god knows what and not taking too much in at the same time leading to this problem.
I was just wondering why dancers were crowding round you, as I would be thinking they wouldn't be congregating around 1 particular person around the bar unless something was on offer? Also, not sure how many dances/dancers did you actually have?

crowding around whoever is spending is standard.
but that is besides the real point...there is a clear scam. the card was charged for goods & services that were not provided. take action. good luck.0 -

i don't understand why you think Burnz0 would make it up, and 'dupe' other contributors. in what way are we being duped?0

We are going round in circles a bit.
It is similar to a handful of other strip club posts you'll find on these pages.
It's also attracted a few very low count posters to wade in for the first time in months.
Not conclusive, but suspicious.0
