Because 95%+ of decisions are correct and consequently don't get appealed.

Do you have any links showing this?

If its a minority that get it wrong can you explain why around half of all appeals are successful?

I will leave the argument concerning targets as I am unable to find the proof I had but rest assured the targets were not publicised as they have to be seens as non discriminitive.

Many appeals are successful - and many of those have not seen an EMP - original claims fail for many reasons (the way the forms are completed, for a start).

Doctors and DWP have targets to meet - but all they involve is turnover of work - not denying, those who need them, benefits.

EMP's have the remit of trying to give honest assessments of who is fit for work/entitled to DLA and who is not. Some are poor, and some get it wrong - that's life, and that's why we have tribunals..

But, the vast majority of claims just sail through.

I have been involved in benefits for 20 years - and I have never found evidence of any mis-doing by anyone.

The only people to think there is a "conspiracy" going on are those whose claims have failed.

There was a huge investigation a few years back (by disabled groups) to determine whether the EMP's were paid/encouraged to reject claims etc., - it was found to have no basis in fact.

Can you povide written proof about targets to remove people from IB and commission paid because until you do this is nothing more than hearsay. Also there is nothing to check at the end of an IB medical and nothing to sign.

Actually yes there is because there is a statement that has to be signed at the end of the assesment to prove that what was said to be true as i have that statement in my draws here so please dont you dare tell me that there aint anything to sign

Well in that case you are the first person I have heard of who had to sign something for an IB medical after the medical. Maybe it is a new thing, when did you have your medical? Maybe you are confusing it with DLA where there used to be a form to sign. Also about targets etc Hissingsid is correct and it is YOU that needs to provide us with the proof.

I have never heard of that before especially as most PCAs are now usually done on a computer with nothing printed out to sign. The only form I can think of that people have to sign is on arrival to confirm attendance. I didnt say you were stupid I was just trying to make sense of what you said.

i went for a ib medical 4 weeks ago. the doctor had my ib50 form in front of her.

i was asked questions and examined for things that were on my ib50 form. the doctor put her answers on the computer.

at the end the doctor said she does NOT make the deision, this is done someware else.

i did NOT have to sign anything

all i will say is that it was just like going to see my own doctor.

    i did pass my medical.

    Maxwell.
